Applicants for direct admission to the degree program are required to have:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 5 out of 7 (Australian AQF Level 7 or recognised equivalent)
  2. Applicants who have not undertaken recognised studies taught in English (e.g. undergraduate degree) are required to demonstrate proficiency in English equivalent to an IELTS of 7.0 overall or equivalent, with a minimum 6.0 in reading, writing, speaking and listening
  3. Three (3) years of supervisory (including team/project leader) or professional experience

Applicants are required to submit an application for admission directly to Macquarie University, with these supporting materials:

  • Application form
  • Resume, including details of supervisory or professional experience
  • Details of academic qualifications including academic transcripts and testamurs
  • Two referee reports, both being professional
  • IELTS or equivalent English Language results dated within the last 2 years
  • A personal statement video (maximum length 1 minute) covering a brief introduction of yourself, why you are interested in the Global MBA, and your expectations of the program

Alternatively, learners may be admitted to the degree program based on their performance in Global MBA Specialisations. If you do not meet the direct admission criteria you can still be accepted into the Global MBA through the Performance Track as a non-award student. In order to qualify into the degree through this alternative pathway, you must achieve an overall grade average of 65% or higher, across eight units from any specialisation (with the exception of Problem Solving). Once you meet the Performance Track criteria you will be eligible for admission to the Global MBA degree.

Application Process

For direct entry, submit an application for admission to the degree and attach all supporting documents as outlined in the admission requirements. The admissions team will assess your application and advise of of next steps.

For performance track, students will be invited into the degree once they achieve the required grades.

  • Macquarie offers an on-campus MBA degree as well as the fully online Global MBA degree. The degrees are two completely different programs, with different course structures, curriculum and delivery modes. Both offer the same high quality education through world-class academics and industry partners.

  • As outlined under Admission Requirements, you can apply for direct admission to the degree. Alternatively, you can apply after completing two or more of the Leading, Strategising, Analysing and Influencing Specialisations with an average grade of at least 75%, with no individual course graded less than 60%.
