Kirill Chmel is a Junior Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research, Higher School of Economics (HSE), where he is developing his research in the political economy of development, by conducting large-scale surveys and experiments and applying methods of big data analysis. He is also a Lecturer at the Department of Integrated Communications, HSE, where he teaches courses on Python programming, machine learning, quantitative methods, and causal inference. Kirill Chmel majored in political science in both BA and MA programmes at HSE in 2018 and 2020 accordingly. In 2017, he also did his second major in Machine Learning. He collaborated with UAEU, Columbia U, and Indiana U, as an Independent Consultant and a Research Assistant.
