This is one of the best courses which you can approach to understanding Russian economics, particularly its contemporary challenges and also a bridge to know the transition era!
Very interesting course. It touches on all the important aspects of the situation and even gives us some insight and specific information that you would not easily find online.

This was a high-level review of a very complicated period of Russian economic history. The instructor provided an appropriate level of objective statistics and actual examples to paint a realistic picture of Russia's opportunities and challenges. The opportunities are immense but the challenges are very formidable. Russia is blessed with an educated population and abundant natural resources. It needs to eliminate a culture of corruption, reduce unnecessary regulation, invest in infrastructure, and strengthen institutions that can support a vibrant market economy.

The videos and the explanations are very clear. I have the feeling to have learn the major important point about the russian Economy in transition. But maybe the end of the course is a little bit outdated now and should be actualized.

That was insightful!

Dissatisfied for further reasons: the lecturer's proficiency in English in disappointing, not enough statistical evidence in lectures, the tests are not challenging enough and their quality is depressing (a lot of mistakes), quality of multimedia presentations (a lot of mistakes and omissions). The course is in need of a thorough rethinking, probably with a more fluent lecturer.
Nevertheless, thank you for raising many important issues.

It is too simplified to get a real view of the 90's economic situation , especially the 91-93 years.
To talk about transition between A and C , better to talk about A and not only about B and C.
It is an useful course for general knowledge of Russia , it as a start , for more accurate analyses I could advise this ( in russian) :

This course has some really great content, and I learned a lot about the transition from communism in Russia. Unfortunately, the professor repeats himself ad nauseam and is often quite tangential, and I found the need to speed up the video speed by quite a bit.

Poor delivery, very hard to listen. Lector uses too many buzz words like "em", "am". This is not a live lecture so it could be worth practicing and recording a clean quality speech. For example, lectures from the week 2 are unbearable to listen.

Great content, great topic, but the English knowledge of the professor is very disturbing. With the same content, much shorter videos should have been created.

I am not a history expert, but spotted some minor mistakes / weird statements

The analysis is not well-structured nor in-depth. Moreover, the English-level of the lecturer is not appropriate for international students. I'm disappointed. It was a waste of time.

Good info, week 4 has a mistake in the quiz that makes it unpassable.
