An excellent course. A lot of very indispensable notions about valuation approach could be learned in this course, as follows: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), etc. I strongly recommend this course to all students who are involved in this charming profession of Financial Analyst. Professor Konstantin Kontor explained very well both, basis and cumbersome notions in valuation area. Also, nice and challenging questions and assignment for peers
A course of the famous Professor Konstantin Kontor from the MIPT. If you want to learn the fundamentals of corporate finance, this is the way to go. Prof. Kontor make complex issues easy to understand and he uses many numerical examples to grow your understanding of Corporate Finance. I have followed many other Finance courses including Financial Engineering I & II, but the Specialization Understanding Modern Finance brought me really inside.

The course was clear and well-structured. The fundamental concepts of the company evaluation were presented.
The cons: some weeks were overly lengthy and contained redundant repetitions; some assignments were hard to solve solely due to the insufficient material given in the lectures and handouts.

Course is very well designed. Professor adequately explained the concepts.
One suggestion regarding graded quizes, once a student has passed then detailed explanation of answers should be given as it is given in practice quizes.

Poor English, poor contextual explanation. The quizzes are filled with confusing questions. Most of the time the instructor stands in front of the flip board and can't see what he is doing thus understand what he means.
