A more advanced consideration is understanding lenses, which have the greatest influence on how video is captured. Ultra Wide-angle lenses are go-tos, because they can capture as much of the environment as possible with the fewest amount of cameras. Therefore, the fewest number of videos to stitch together after the fact. There are two types of commonly used ultra wide-angle lenses. The first, the fisheye lens, is a small curvilinear lens that captures a spherical view of the world. This is most evident in the curved outer edges of the photo. The good thing is, this distortion can be fixed with post-production stitching tools. A rectilinear lens, is an ultra wide-angle lens that's generally bigger than a fisheye. As opposed to being curved on the edges, rectilinear lenses are great for preserving straight lines without any warping, making them perfect for capturing straight walls of buildings and interiors. They usually enable every pixel in the shop, to have equal sharpness and little distortion enabling much easier stitching in post-production.
