Greetings all. In today's class, we are going to import sketch files into SketchUp. Before getting into 3D modeling, it's crucial to import a plan of the model. Let's get started. Now, we import auto CAD file into SketchUp. We select File/Import to open the CAD file we just collect. The file will automatically align the origin points. Check if there are some lines missing. If so, use Line Tool to mend it. And then, we finish importing CAD fiIe. If you are using a SketchUp Make, you will have to use another way to import a file. Next, we open SketchUp, input PNG file. So we'll select File/Import, choose PNG files and select the previous file we just printed. Lock it to origin points and inputs 1600 for the width, rotate the image matching the bottom left spot to origin points. Use Tape Measure Tool to measure the column. The width is 25. The true Width should be 50. So we can scale the image. Click the corner and input two. Since we imported an image, we cannot lock the points. What we can do now is to draw guidelines. Select the image, use Tape Measure Tool to draw guidelines for walls, doors, columns. Follow the tips to compress with the image. Last, we add a new layer called Floor Plan. Click Window from the Toolbar and open Layers/Window, click the plus button and rename the new layer Floor Plan. Then select the image. Right click and then select Make Group. Right click there again and then choose Entity Info. Change the layer to Floor Plan. Right click again and lock it. Then we are finish importing CAD files. During today's class, we learn how to import the plan of the model we create. It's a key step of the process. We are prepare to develop this model. But now, let's rest a bit. Goodbye.
