Greetings to all. Throughout this course, we learned how to develop a five-story apartment model by using the skills learned from 3D CAD Fundamental, and be able to build models efficiently and professionally. We now know the whole process and elements to build a basic building model and the tricks or skills for 3D modeling. Now, let's go over what we have learned during the course. At first, we import a plan of this apartment model. If we use SketchUp Make, we can only import image file. We'll use SketchUp Pro in this course, so you can import a DW file directly into SketchUp. It will allow you trace the plan precisely. Next, we draw the columns according to the plan. We put it upward, then we connect them with each other by the walls. The next text is creating the beams. After that, we work on the staircases. Now, this offer challenges. We need to convert 2D image into a 3D model. Before doing so, we must know the true size and the riser size. The direction of the stairs and the elements of the staircase. A ray is the easiest way to complete most of the staircases. It is very useful tool to draw handrail and stairs. After creating staircases, we can finish one whole floor by joining the slabs. Now, with the structure, we can focus on the details. Generally, in architectural plan, we only draw windowsills, windows, and doors. The basic form of the windowsill is to make a hole on the wall and then put a window into it. We make holes for windows, doors, and air-conditioner inlets. After that, we create components of windows and doors. We need to be patient and focus on what we draw including the position of the casements and the opening direction. In the model we are working on, there are several windows with different sizes. We listed the size in the size table. We can use scale tool to draw similar ones with ease. And then we make them components. Now, we can insert these components into the holes we made. When we complete the floors, we need to stack them. On the screen, we can see the bottom is the foundation floor. There are ground bins and a foundation under the building. Then there are the first floor, the second to first floors. And the roof floors. Now, we are done assembling the five-story apartment model. Here, we already got used to the entire process how to create professional models. SketchUp already simplify the process on modeling a lot. It's [inaudible] for drawing building models now and reduce the time wasted in 3D modeling. In the past years, engineering and architecture drawings were created in 2D CAD. It costs a lot of money to develop 3D models. For now, 3D modeling is a common skill for engineers and architects. We can enrich proposals for space planning, some architects spread their ideas by 3D models when they meet owners. If owners come up with some ideas, architect can change the model and discuss with owner immediately. It will reduce the time for discussion because 3D drawings are easier for owner to comprehend than 2D drawings. Thus, it would happen that building in reality are not same as the one in owner's mind. Besides, experience of 3D modeling in sketch are enhanced career development in beam building information model. They come as 3D building model with information of buildings. So, 3D modeling is crucial foundation of beam. I hope that this course is beneficial to your ability of 3D modeling and that you will be confident of making a professional model readily. And last but not least, hope you keep learning and move on your journey of 3D modeling to beam.
