[MUSIC] Hi. My name is Dan Stotz. I'm a faculty member in the management and entrepreneurship department in the Michael J Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. I will be your instructor for this module titled, Career Habitudes. During this program, you'll also be meeting three of my colleagues. They are Elke Leeds, who is associate vice president of technology enhancement. She will be talking with you about the importance of asking for help during your career. Ann Abeyta is the executive director of career planning and development here at our University. She will be the lead instructor for the module titled, Practical LinkedIn, where she will help you better understand and leverage the best practices in how to use LinkedIn to enhance your career. And last, but certainly not least, Wes Rhea, who is a former senior executive in the area of information systems. And now, a professor of information systems management here at Kennesaw State University. Wes will be your lead instructor for the modules titled, Finding the Mentor, and adjusting your career plan. In this module, we introduce the concept of habitudes, which was created by Dr. Tim Elmore. Doctor Elmore is the founder of an organization called Growing Leaders. He's a leading authority in how to best develop the habitudes we need to succeed at every stage of our career. Tim is a best-selling author and international speaker who helps develop emergent leaders under the philosophy that everyone is born with leadership qualities. He strongly believes and so do I, that our habitudes will play a key role in helping us reach our full potential as leaders, innovators and change makers. As president of Growing Leaders, Tim and his team provide public schools, universities, non-profit organizations and corporations with resources that foster the growth of leaders who can transform society. For over 30 years, he has taught leadership through the power of images and stories. That enables leaders of all ages to influence others in a positive way. Tim's expertise on emerging generations and generational diversity in the workplace has led to media coverage in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, the Washington Post for the Atlanta Business Chronicle and The Dallas Morning News. Tim has appeared on CNN's headline news, Fox and friend, discussing leadership trends and advice on how to manage and lead the millennial generation. And most recently, Tim had become a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. During this portion of the program, you will view a series of videos that feature my recent interview with Dr. Elmore. These videos will help us better understand what is a habitude and why are they important. This module also offers readings that featured Dr. Elmore's philosophies in how to best manage and lead millennials in the workplace. The millennial generation at least here in the United States, now represents the majority of the work force. Tim believes that our career success would depend on our abilities to understand, manage and inspire this very unique and creative generation of leaders. Okay, this completes this video lecture. Now, it's time to go to the next session in this module and meet Dr. Tim Elmore, our career habitudes expert. [MUSIC]
