[SOUND] in this video, we're going to look at OpenTek in more detail. First I'm going to show you how to register an OpenTek then I'll show you how to edit your user profile and your settings and I'll show you how to actually explore the data on the platform. And then I briefly go through how you can create a local entry, local observation and then I'll show you how I explain about how you can join the network and participate in OpenTek. So open your browser and go to OpenTek dot you,so you will immediately land on the litchi website and it shows a dialog with a welcome message and news updates on the platform. Since we actively stay work, you're going to, you can also, you also have to confirm the privacy information. So on the top left you can open the main menu, you have a entries, menu where you see all the entries or the entries you felt it for and you have a main menu with different settings and here's the second point. You have register, registration is relatively straightforward and very similar to other platforms that you might know. So first you have to come up with the user name which has to be unique on the platform. So we'll be worn your, your name is actually already taken, then you fill out your email address and then you have to come up and confirm in the password. And then finally you have to agree to the terms of use and then you can register upon then. You will receive an email to your address that you specified here with a link to activate your account. Instead of registering through this form, you can actually also registered through one of these services, size data are naturalist and orchid. These are services which are from the citizen science world or orchid, which is the more which is a platform researchers in general. So you basically don't have to create an account here and don't have to remember the password. You can also sign in register or lock in with one of these services, so once you created an account which I'm going to skip now you can go to the lock in the website. So here you first have to come up with your you have to specify your user name or specify your passwords that you use and your password [SOUND] you click on knocking and U N. So this is your account now this is your on the literature website and again on the menu you can go to the main and now you see the profile page here. So you can go to your profile and you see all the you see like all the basic information which is basically just a public name. And you can change your profile here so you can change your public name, you can give a description, explain yourself a bit and then a few questions here. Which we basically ask you in order to get a better understanding of the users of the platform, something like what you identify what your age is and what your background is. I leave that for now here on the settings page, you can change the default settings for your entry. So the for privacy settings, the default license and the language that you want to use, so how do we look at the data on the platform? You go to the home and then you have here on the left side the menu, get open with all kinds of entries you also see the entries here on the map. So you can click on one or click here on a card and you would get the details on this entry. So this entry comes from an article and you can see here some references in this case it's actually empty. We don't know the exact source but for example, this one, it's a scientific article, you see the title and the door and so on and villages and so on. If you want to search for specific entries, like for example, just entries which have, which is in the physical system. You can directly click on on this button which represents the physical system and you see already a restricted result list, and also the points on the map will adjust. You can also have more detailed filter, see if you click on and filter and tax, but we will leave this from now, there's a lot to explore. You can also change the entries that you want to, the language that you want to see as a default is the language that you selected. But you can also say that you want to show Spanish or Catalan entries and in the future that would be probably different languages. If you actually want to change the language, you can click here on the language panel on the top right bar, so how can we create an entry now? So I briefly explained how you create a local observation, which is a simple entry type. Basically you just press on the plus button and it will show up this menu in the case you haven't registered, it will actually jump straight to the entry creation page for local observation since basically you shouldn't be able to create a local article review if you haven't registered yet. So we click on this now and we learned on this page where we basically see a form that you have to fill out, some of these things are mandatory and some are optional. So first we have to come up with a name which might be tomatoes grow longer in the summer, then you find a more detailed description, something like, back back 10 years ago, the tomatoes would only grow until August and then now grow into September. Then you have to specify who actually made the observation, so maybe it isn't you yourself, but you actually heard this impact from another person right? Then we ask you for classification, so the classification basically follows more or less the alleged classification system that was explained before, but actually for the local observation is simplified. So the terminology is much easier and straightforward and you don't have to go into the last level of the liturgy, but you can also just say okay. I only want to to go to this level, so this actually doesn't represent the tomato use case, but just to to show me how it works, you can optionally add images and you can also optionally mentioned drivers. So if you want to talk about okay, the tomatoes grow longer, you might add the driver, which is that the summer lasts longer or they're more hot days. You can also describe other factors, other drivers which are actually not, climate change, something like deforestation or something else. Basically the last data point would be a location, so you basically just click on the map on the location that you want to specify and basically it also protects your location. So this is your exact location, the blue dot, but the yellow marker shows the public location in the end. You can specify the license and the privacy which has your default settings that you have in your profile. And you can specify if some other people should be able to view the entry in case it's private or should also be able to edit that entry. Since I didn't fill out all the information, I would just click on cancel in this case but can also save it as a draft to edit it later or download it in case I have everything fit out, I can click on the submit button. So as I explained in the previous video, there are three types of entries. The local observation, I just showed you how to create one, so if you want to add one you can just go to the platform and just make an entry straight away, but also there are other ways to participate. So if you really want to join the network, you can see like maybe you know of some other scientific articles because you're researcher and you can find them in the platform. And you can contribute in this case you have to register and then you can create one of this article reviews, but it would take a little bit more than time than just a few minutes. But also you can get in touch with us and go to a specific site, maybe you're planning some some feed work and you can collect the litchi data on that side. And in this case basically your data will also land on this platform eventually. So you see there are different ways to participate on the platform and there will be other ways even in the future and maybe you even have completely different ideas of what data could be collected in the platform. So if you're interested, just get in touch with us and we are waiting to hear from you [MUSIC]
