[MUSIC] In this video, I'm going to demonstrate how to add a text slide in WeVideo. So I have this image of my father and my grandfather and the timeline, and I also have a piece of music. And you can see that this is song called Summer Garden by an artist named Rob Costlow. And this was downloaded from jamendo.com. And one of the stipulations for being able to to use this freely in a digital story is to give attribution to where it came from and who produced it. It's licensed through Creative Commons, so we're able to do this but we have to include this credit slide at the end. So, in WeVideo it's pretty easy to do that. What I'm going to do first though, is I'm going to click on the image and I'm going to drag it and make it longer than about the five seconds and I also can do the same thing with the audio sound track, the music clip and just to give us a little bit more working room to demonstrate. What I'm going to do next is come up here to the Text tab and click on that and you'll see that there are different types of text that you can use. I'm going to just use the standard one. That's the first one that just says TEXT. And I'm going to click and drag that in to the main track in the timeline and then let that go. And you'll see here now that the text is showing up in the Preview window but there's no real text, there's just some placeholder text. Instead, what I need to do is edit this text so I'll click here and I'll make sure that I'm on the Text tab and then I can type in whatever I want this to say and I could type that in or, in this case, I have already pretyped it into a text document and I'll just paste it in. And you can pull this down so that you can see all of it. So, here is all of the text that I just typed in. If I want to, I can put that down on the next line. But you'll also notice over here that it's not all showing up, just the first few words are showing up. And that's because by default, WeVideo adds text at 72 point type, and that's way too big. So I'm going to used this slider bar to pull this back and probably somewhere like about 24 perhaps would be good. Let's try 22, that looks pretty good. Actually it snapped into place at 24. So that looks pretty good. The only difference is that I have a line here for when I get rid of that and I can go back and take out that hard return that I put in, but either way it's fine. I could change the font if I wanted to by using a different font here. I could change the color of the text and pick another color if I wanted to. Well actually that doesn't look very good, so let's not do that. That was actually the background color. I don't want to change the background color. I could change the color of the text here by clicking on that if i wanted to but I kind of like the plain white text on a black background and so when I'm happy with the way I've changed it, it's centered by default. I could change it to left justified or right justified if i wanted to, but I kind of like it as center justified. So, I'll keep that and when I'm done I'll just click Done editing. And I can again change the length of time that it appears on the screen, just pulling and dragging. And I can preview all this to see how it works. So, I will do that. And you'll see that, that's pretty abrupt change from the image of my grandfather's store to the credits slide, so what I'm going to do instead is come over here. I'm going to be on this selected image, and I’ll come down here to show levels, and then I have these little key frames, and I can just mouse over to where I want to put in another key frame, and then I can pull that second one down and that will fade out the opacity of that image. And so I can do that at the beginning, also if I wanted to fade in the clip, I could do the same thing and then it would fade in and then when I play that over here you'll see it fades out. And I could actually do the exact same thing with this credit slide and again I have to go over to make sure that the levels are showing and they are, they're just pretty small here. But I'm going to click and create another key frame and then pull, whoops, I think I missed that. And so you have to have pretty good eyesight to be able to do this. And. So the easier way to try to accomplish this is to come over to the Zoom tool and zoom in here as many times as is necessary, and now it's much easier to see these key frames. And then I can pull that one down pretty easily. So now what's going to happen is both the image will fade out and the credit slide will fade out. And so that's a quick and easy way to add a credit slide at the end using the add text option in WeVideo. In this video, I'm going to demonstrate how to add a text slide in WeVideo.
