[SOUND] Hello, my name is Dr. Philip Roberts, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Beginning in January 2014, the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, usually known as the FE and previously known as the EIT exam, moved to an all online format. The exams are now given throughout the year in four, two-month windows. They consist of computer based tests with 110 multiple choice questions chosen from different sections in one of seven engineering disciplines. The purpose of this course is to help you pass this exam. We will address many of the sections covered in modules that parallel those in the actual exam, especially those in civil and mechanical engineering. You can pick and choose the modules you want, and in any order. The modules are intended to be reviews of the main subjects. We will not delve deeply into the theories involved, rather, we will highlight the main points and equations and give worked examples to illustrate them. We assume that you have already taken a basic course in each subject. The modules are intended to be refreshers. We will give examples of typical FE exam questions, and how to work them to deduce the correct answers. We won't give actual exams, but within the sections, we will review sample questions and answers. And at the end of each module, you will have the opportunity to test your knowledge through short quizzes. Other practice exams and questions are available elsewhere, and we recommend you seek these out for additional experience. This course has only one purpose, to prepare you to pass the FE exam. And in this I wish you success, and in your continuing engineering careers. [SOUND]
