By this point in the course, you should have a growing understanding of the mind-body connection and have a sense as to why the practices associated with mindfulness are primarily body-based. I hope you also take some time to check out the resource section and that this helps you feel more informed about the specific health benefits associated with a regular mindfulness practice. I said from the outset that the goal of this module was to provide you with a compelling argument for knowing, respecting, and appreciating your body, no matter its ability and limitations. The human body is a wonderfully complex thing and yet we often take what it does for granted. We move around, carry things, make things, see, hear, speak, feel, and taste, often without appreciating how all this happens. When all is right with the body we tend to take it for granted, and when things feel wrong, we get frustrated and feel betrayed. And yet, just by breathing, the body is performing magic. This is true, even when we're not feeling how we'd like to feel. The activity challenges associated with this module have been designed to help you appreciate the remarkable reality of being a body. You might not like 100% of what you encounter, but if you can stay open and friendly to the entirety of your experience, you'll begin to understand exactly why mindfulness of the body is so critical. I hope you learn a few things about yourself from the practices this week. I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
