How do we step into ourselves and become conscious of the way we move and how we move through our environments? In this module, imagining yourself as a dancer, a dancer that just lives in your day. How do you move through your day? How do you experience your body? What's happening inside you? In this module I want you to explore what it means to be in your body, how you move in your body. Moving all parts of your self, I don't want to say everyone has to be a dancer, but we can actually engage in movement in a variety of different ways, in a variety of different levels. When I did my work in the hospital, sometimes simply using a scarf to begin to move your body and get into a flow. Movement is very powerful and very healing, in ancient times movement was very integral in community healing circles. Where there would be drumming, there would be musicians and the community would begin to move. And the movement actually got and many people in the community really really hot. And through this physiology of heat, people were able to feel the power of healing through their movement, movement is incredibly intense. As we move with our bodies we can unlock schematic things that we've closed in, maybe trauma has happened you in the past and it's locked you and your body's actually frozen. And that freezing holds, is held in your body, in injuries, in tension, in places in your body that physically hurt. In this module, I want you to explore different dance modalities if they appeal to you. And if they don't appeal to you, I want you to explore modalities that may be more accessible to you. Thinking about how your body teaches you and takes you into these places inside yourself that need to be healed, and how you begin to release, and how you begin to move. Because this is really important, semantically, our body holds our stories and holds our experiences. And as we release movement in our body, it opens up a neuro, the neurotransmitters, and allows us to reenact, sometimes, and actually release and then rebalance our whole body. So dance and movement can be extraordinarily powerful. And sometimes when you create space and you're just dancing alone, putting on your favorite song and dancing alone. Move the way your body wants to move, follow your body, allow your body to lead you into its expression. Dwell in the places where you move into feeling states and express them through body, through the body's movement or activity or expressions. So in this module, the body and movement is incredibly accessible to all of us. Everyone is a dancer in some way, we dance, we move, we walk, we run, we're constantly in motion or we're not, movement is very healing. It's our natural desire to move, healing with movement is something that we don't need to be prescribed how to move. Our body is the healing force of our movement, simply allow your body to move and let it take you where it wants to go. Your body will hold you safe, your body is to be trusted, I recommend you being grounded. Connected and allow the energy to flow up from the earth into your body giving yourself permission to open yourself up to the possibilities of dancing and the possibility of movement. Have a wonderful time, have fun, enjoy it. Just get yourself in dealing with the lusciousness of simply moving. And sometimes it can begin just with our fingers and just with our hands. And then it'll be amazing where your body takes you. So I invite you to move, and dance, and heal.
