[MUSIC] Hello this week, we are going to continue to unpack this interesting concept of a multinational cross cultural team. So we have now already defined multinational, just last week, we defined cultural. We recognize that we haven't fully dive into the idea of cross cultural yet, but we're going to set aside that for now he's actually going to get into it later. We promise, we have a good reason, we probably don't have to define the term team either. If you guessed it, you probably would guess a group of people who work or compete together, that's a team, you win. But while we may not need to define it, we do need to recognize that what a good team is and how a team develops are both rich topics that have seen many different, sometimes conflicting theories. Very little consensus from the people who professionally study and train and think about these things. >> Makes sense. That's because when you put people in a group together and ask them to work together and maybe easy to define, but it certainly is not easy to do. Teamwork has many challenges and those challenges are only enhanced when people on those teams have different ways of seeing the world, right? Which happens nearly every time. >> True, yeams also, however, they do present amazing opportunities. Think of people thousands thousands thousands thousands of years ago, they need to, let's say hunt and kill a fierce lion if they do it by themselves, good luck, right? If they do it together, but they don't work together, not going to be very successful. Probably a lot of people are going to be scratched by that lion or even worse. But if they figure out how to work together, complimenting each other's skills and working together through a coordinated plan. Well, good luck Mr Lion. >> This opportunity of teams, is why by the end of this module, we want you to have some useful tools to see how to work with teams in general. Before we even get to the complication of culture. You will analyze the importance of teams, define how individual personalities show up on teams, understanding how good teams work together, right? When they're working together and grow together and discuss the role diversity plays in a team, whether it be because teammates are from different cultures or not. >> This should be a packed week and in a fun way. By the end, you will be able to say something like the following, my storming team meets my need for belonging, but could make better use of my agreeable personality type. We promise you will get it at the end of this. So just stay put, hang tight. >> One piece of advice for this week, don't worry if your team isn't perfect yet, well, you know what that's normal, right? First of all, it's never going to be perfect. No, no team is and that's okay. Second of all, we want you to see this week that all teams develop over time takes time in this development and there are clear actions you and your teammates can do and take to help them move forward. And finally, I think you would agree teams are just hard, so give yourself a break and good luck this week. >> All right.
