[BLANK_AUDIO]. To change is a challenge, definitely. We need to be better on change. And probably the next step to be better is to separate. To completely make a difference between two types of change. You can change the world, the reality of the world and maybe it's a dream for many people. And you have to obey the law of this particular change. The world is changing every single day, a little bit. The world is not tomorrow like it is today. Your company is not today like what it was yesterday. Every single day something happen. The reality is changing on to continuously, and I will illustrate this by simple visual. You have time, change and you, you see the change is continuous. It's a bit like tree which is growing. If you compare the tree this week, next week, it's not the same. It's not the same, but there is some change. This is called reality, the reality. But, there is another type of change, often forgotten. And, my first book in English was called The Forgotten Half of Change. It's not the change about the reality but the change about the perception. You can change your company. You can change your company, you can change the way you look at your company. And this is completely different. There are many differences, but one is very important to notice. Changing reality is continuous. Changing perception is discontinuous. When perception changes [SOUND], it's it's a shock. And, in the next lecture I will explain exactly why. I don't need it now, but let's just remember changing perception is a shock [SOUND], it's a shock. Suddenly you realize, hey, I made this, I can, different. It's always a shock. Just to illustrate, let's take another visual, which is here. Look at this picture. Look at this picture. Probably, the first thing you see, probably, is a little cube in a corner. Probably. Now, I ask you to keep your attention, to stay, remain focused on this visual. And maybe after five, six, seven seconds, suddenly you see something else. You see a large cube where a little one, a litle cube, was removed. And, this is very interesting. Why? Because the image is the same, the image is exactly the same. It's the reality of this image, but your perception has changed. And, it's a shock. You cannot move slowly from the little cube to the big one. No. It's either/or. It's a shock. It's exactly, it illustrates changing perception. And of course, a manager, a CEO in charge of change, has to cope with the two types of change. And the rules are completely different, completely different. One is continuous, the other is discontinuous. But the challenge can be summarized in one visual. This one, this one, and you see you have the timeline. You have to manage reality every single day you made progress. But you also have to take into account, perception. Perception. And not only your perception, the way you look at your company. Also, your client's perception because they look at you and they follow, they obey the same rules. They also move from [SOUND], this is a great company, you're suddenly, no, this is not a great company. It's simplified. It's simplified, but that's the rule of perception and the reason I called, and this lecture for me is about the forgo, forgotten half of change. The danger to forget perception, and I'll be back on that. [BLANK_AUDIO]
