[MUSIC] We're going to talk about the second A section of our project, measures nine through measure 16. Last video we did the first eight bars, and it sounded like this, G minor, C7, to F major. Which is a two, five, one, then we repeated that again, two, five, one. Then we went four, which is B flat major, three, two, one, two, back to two, five, one. All right, so what we're going to do now, first we're going to create our measures. And if you liked to use a writing program like Finale or Sibelius, you're welcome to do that too, but I think you should write it on paper first, then move it to your writing program. So we have our next eight bars, so we call this A two, put it in a little box here. Now this section is going to be another A section, but we're going to vary it with a few modal interchange chords. What is modal interchange? You're borrowing from a parallel tonality, we're in a key of F, and we're going to borrow from F minor. Our first two cords will be the same as the first A sections. Start with G minor seven, C7, and then we'll play the one again, F major seven. Then we'll do another two five, and instead of going to one, we're going to use a modal interchange chord and go to flat three major seven. What is flat three major seven in the key of F, right, A flat major seven. We'll go to nine, ten, 11, 12, bar 13. And we'll go through the four chord just like we did in the first A section. B flat major, A minor, G minor and F major. Now the last two bars, I'd like to insert a progression from our popular progression list. Flat six, flat seven, and one, and the key of F would be D flat, E flat, and F is the one chord. Those are also modal interchange chords that we're borrowing from F minor. So this is what sounds like one, two, three, four, two, five, one. Two, five, flat three, little extra flavor. Four, three, two, one. Flat six, D flat, flat seven, E flat, then one. Again, G minor, C7, F major. G minor, C7, A flat major. A flat major, A minor, G minor, F major. D flat, E flat, F. An example of a second A section. I use diatonic chords, and I varied it from the first A section with a few modal interchange chords. All right guys, get to work
