[MUSIC] Welcome to Salesforce fundamentals. In this module we'll be starting with a project quickstart reports and dashboards, creating reports and dashboards for sales and marketing managers, and data modeling. Just start the module with conceptual learning and quizzes to reaffirm your understanding for reports and dashboards, followed by getting your hands dirty, and building reports from creating folders and dashboard folders to visualizing your data, for your managers. Today I'll be helping you demo the data modeling section. These two modules build upon each other, so as you go through the challenge, make sure that you read through every single section of The module as they will overlap with the challenges. We'll get started with creating the custom object for property, followed by creating custom fields and creating a record which will later be used for the next challenge. We'll conclude with building a custom offer object and following on to the next module. So let's get started. You would launch your trailhead management and click on the gears icon and click setup. Once you do you've done done as usual, you will click on object manager and create new your custom object. In this case, as I mentioned, you want to follow directly the Instructions that are in the module. Today we're going to be creating a custom property object for the Bradley properties. We're going to launch a new custom tab wizard, and we're going to choose whichever tab we would like save and move on. So let's get started. We're going to name this property, this will be properties claims once you don't have to type this, but this is helpful and good practice for you to do we don't have to do any of this as a challenge does not ask us to do that, but we will be launching a tap wizard. Go ahead and click Save. And when you check the tab style, check something that you would like, I like skay so I will choose skiers click next you don't have to worry about permissions. Click next and saves. So now that we've done the custom object for properties, we want to move on and create the custom fields that they're requiring. We are being required to create a custom field for price and it's going to be the life self sell price of home and its going to of required, it's going to be anticurrency a be let's get started. In fields and relationships, I'm going to create a new relationship and they have asked that we create a currency relationship. Click Next. This is going to be price and the description is the list sale price of the home. Let's double check that it's required, yes it is and click Next as we don't have to worry about the privacy and save. Now that we've done that we can go on and create a record for this particular area. So in this case, we've already worked on the on the back end so on the front end, we can now go here, so go ahead and click the gear box and click safe. If the tab doesn't generate here, go ahead and click More and it should be here properties. Once you have this, go ahead and click New and you can type any property. I'm going to. One two three black street for a value of 750,000. Go ahead and click and safe and the record is saved. So now that we've done that we can go ahead and move on to the challenge. When a home buyer makes an offer on a property the broker says Dreamhouse realty needs to track details and Salesforce, create a custom object that they use to record the offer amount and target close date for sales use auto numbering to generate the name of each record. So as usual, we'll create a custom object, this time, it will be a offer custom object, the record name would be offered name. The record type will be auto number. This is a display type that we want starting number, and then we're going to create some fields and relationships as related to currency and target close. Close date. So we'll go again. Back to our setup. So if you want you can do start from scratch. Go again to object Manager, create new custom object and click offer. First plural. Offers placed on a home. And we want this to be auto number. The display format is going to be F and the starting number is going to be 1. Once you've done that. You can click safe. We don't have to create a new tab for that. All right, now we can move on to fields in relationships and create new. We want to create a custom currency field for the offer object in its name. It's going to be offer amount. So currency. Click next. Offer amount. Offer amount. Placed on a home. And we are not being required to make this a required field, so go ahead and click next. Click next. And safe. Now we want to create one more. In the fields in relationships and this will be a target close date with date field. So make sure that when you go through these challenges you read carefully. This one is asking for date, not data in time. So if you click date and time or do you think that the same thing or not? Target close date. 4. Home purchas? And this field is not required, so go ahead and click next. Don't have to worry about permissions. And click save. Now that you've completed that, you can go ahead and check the challenge. As usual. This takes a couple seconds, maybe a minute, so you'll want to start opening your second tab for the next module of data modeling, which is create custom objects in relationships. I will help demo this section here and you will work on working with the schema builder on your own. So let's check Yep, we got her 500 points and we can move on to the next section. So here we're going to be creating more objects and following along with the with the texts. As you can see. They are asking us to create a property object from the previous unit, so This is why it was important to follow along with that. But now we're going to create relationships between objects, so let's head to the bottom. And we're going to create a custom object for favourites, and we're going to launch a new tab, click save, and we're going to create fields in relationships an add a favorite name with a display format. So let's get started with favourites. As usual, gotta object manager and create custom object. You'll type in favorite pluralize favourites. And they are asking us. To check the box to launch a new Object Custom tab object. Go ahead and click save and then will do the. Relationships. Click launch new custom, click save and choose something that you would like. I'm going to choose a star. Then click next. Don't worry bout permissions. Click save. Now we can go to fields in relationships and create new. From this we want to create data type. Auto number and then click next, so let's. Do this. Auto number. Click next and we're going to give it a favorite name. And the format is going to be FA. And started number will be one. Click next. Next and save. So within this we've created a custom object and we've created a fields in relationships. Now we're going to continue to create custom fields. So we're going to create. To custom fields and a favorite object. So we're going to create a lookup relationship that lists who users that list the users who select favorite for property. And then we're going to create a master detail relationship. So let's start with the favorite. Fields and relationships. We're going to choose lookup relationship and choose contact. So we'll move forward with this new fields in relationship, and we're going to look up lookup relationship. Click Next, related to contact and that contact point dress contact. Go ahead and click Next. In the field name, this will auto populate so you don't have to worry about that. Who favourites a home. And verify that you don't need anything else. Go ahead and click Next and safe. Don't worry about any of the permissions you can move on pretty quickly from this. And save. Now that we've completed this, we can go ahead and create a master relationship. So on the object manager, again we're going to go into the custom object for favorites and Click on fields and relationships. And we're going to Create a master detail relationship and Click Next. We're going to relate it to property. And we're going to enter the field name as property and Click Save. So in fields and relationships for Favorite, we're going to create new and master detail relationship and click on Next related to property, You can type in, go ahead and click Next. Field name is property that is selected as favorite. Remember, this is not required for the challenge, but it's good for you to get into the practice of creating descriptions for these objects. Go ahead and click Next. Click Next, Next, and safe. Now that we've completed this, we can go and see how these changes affect the front end. So we're going to go on the front end and we're going to select sales, click on the Properties tab and we're going to click on the property record. Click related to see if there's any favorites, click New and enter a favorite name. So on the front end, we've already chosen sales. We already have properties here, we're going to refresh because some of the changes might not have taken into effect. But we can see here if anyone has favorited So let's see, ee what this is again okay. So we can look at the property record and see if anyone has related no, nobody has done a favorite So we can type in Brian's purchase interest. And you can search a contact, we can even put it to Ellen Johnson for property and click safe. Now that you've done this, you can move on to the challenge we've already created the property object We are looking to create a master detail relationship and a lookup relationship. Remember that when you do the master detail relationship, it's going to be under the offer object and it's going to be related to property. So once you've done this, you will be able to complete this challenge and move on.
