[MUSIC] Hello. I am Professor Duck-joo Lee. Before we knew it, we have come to the last class of the forth week. This week, we practiced recalling an apple and discarding it. Also, in order to self-reflect in an objective way, we must die, and became the perspective of Universe, Then we can recall the happenings at Earth. from far away in the Universe. We recalled Stories about pride, relationships, and stories about love in real life. Surely you’re not thinking that we are going to sing a song or play a game, just because this is the last lecture of the forth week, are you? As I mentioned in the forth lecture, in order to change, we must be willing to recall as much as we can and put in the effort. Therefore, today , we are going to recall common minds we have in life; worries, anxiety, anger, and quick temper. Close your eyes. Years Past. 10 years go by. 20 years go by. 200 years go by. I have died and become a spirit. I leave Earth and go up to the Universe. Since the arrival at the Universe, 100 years have passed. Earth looks like a small dot, far away. Recall all the moments relating to worries, anxiety, anger, and quick temper, in the memory and life that happened in Earth. All of those things are stories that happened 100, 200 years ago in Earth, which is now just a very small dot. keep close your eyes. What was my biggest worry during my childhood? Recall the times when I was worried that my mother would not buy me a toy, I was scared I might see a ghost, I was worried that my parents might scold me. I was worried because I might not do well in my examinations, I might get ill, I may not be able to go to a University, From marriage to retirement, I was always worried about my future. Even during happy moments, I was worried that this happiness would not last, During bad situations, I was worried that happiness would not come , and misfortune would continue. Recall the multiple worries that occurred all the time on a daily basis. Even while knowing that there is no point of worrying and nobody told me to worry, this chain of worries never stop. What is the reason for these worries? Recall the moment related to anger and quick temper. Recall a time when in the same situation, a different person did not get angry, but only I did. What was the cause of this mind? In the opposite sense, what was the reaction of the other person when I got angry? What was it about me? That caused that specific reaction from the other person? Whether it is a film, music, or a person, recall my reaction when I saw something that I liked or disliked. Right. We will finish here. Please open your eyes. Even though this lecture has finished, recall each topic when you have spare time. You will become to know more accurately, who you are, and what kind of a minds you have lived with. Through this, you will be able to realize the gap between my current state and the state that I want to be in. You will also be able to know why we are living in a false world more and more clearly. For example is my first love ,that I can recall in my mind, real? Or is my first love, who is presently living somewhere, real? As well, we think judge, and the make decisions in a world of a pictures, taken by our eyes, nose, mouth, and ears, while thinking this is a correct. This is the same as living in a world that will disappear once we wake up from the dream. However, like we do not know that we are dreaming. Then, inside that dream, We have mistaken ourselves for living the real world because the picture world perfectly overlaps the real word. Nevertheless, if you think about it, even if one achieves something, happiness does not last long. Soon it will be followed by futile situations. This is not the real world, but a world that is not existent. Loving someone is a dream Earning money is a dream. Becoming successful, and earning honor is a dream. This is why past saints describes our lives as a life of Duckweeds. A life of no meaning and a life like bubble foam. Therefore, self-reflection meditation is important. If I recall and discard my life repeatedly through meditation, it becomes clear that I have been living in a self-centered mind world. You can only discard, once you know what to discard. If the false is discarded, only the truth remains. Like I mentioned in the first week, the ultimate objective of self reflection is to get rid of an incomplete false and to live in the complete true world. Everything that you want to achieve and hope for can become possible when you live in the real world. As you have probably felt, this method is a clear and a certain method. Did you understand? If you did not understand or have any questions, please ask me. In the coming fifth week I will talk about how self-reflection can be done during daily life and I'll talk about the people who are doing In death. Please look forward to next week.
