Hello and welcome to the third course and RPA specialization, UI automation and selectors. This course assumes that you have completed the first two courses of the specialization. It contains five modules explaining different methods and activities in studio used while interacting with the user interface of different applications, like Excel, Word, CRN, and websites. In the first two modules, you will learn about UI interactions and different input actions and methods. The next two modules explain containers and different recording types available in studio. The last module of the course describes selectors and studio. The course consists of the following learning assets. Video lessons, reading materials, practice exercises, and graded quizzes. Let's dive deeper into each type of learning assets and understanding how it should be used. Video lessons help you understand concepts and acquire the skills necessary to build the automation projects and studio. They are of two types, theory and demonstration. The theory videos explain the key concepts used to build automation projects. You are advised to pause and replay them for a detailed and clear understanding of the concepts. The demonstration videos demonstrate the practical application of the concepts explained in the theory videos and provide a step-by-step guide on using different features of studio used to build automation projects. You are encouraged to re-create the steps explained in the video to understand the concept presented entirely. Practicing these concepts will enhance your learning and improve your understanding of studios interface and functionality. It is highly recommended to keep the studio open so that the features, activities, or components discussed in the video can be explored in parallel. The next asset is reading materials, which provide additional information on the concepts and topics discussed in the video lessons. They often contain links to UiPath documentation web portal as well. It is recommended that you study the reading materials thoroughly to develop a deeper understanding of the concepts. These materials are accompanied by PDF documents which can be easily downloaded and saved for future reference. Now, let's talk about practice exercises. The practice exercises of the course help you practice concepts learned in the video lessons. Each practice exercise is accompanied by a solution document. The solution document contains the process, overview, and step-by-step instructions, which incrementally reveal the solution and make it easier for you to create the workflows. It is recommended that you try and practice the exercises independently before taking assistance from the solution document. At the end of the course, you will encounter a graded quiz. It helps you assess your understanding of the course. It is recommended that you revise the course before attempting it. So far, we have covered all the learning assets. Let us now move to one of the most critical tools in this specialization. Discussion forums, which can be leveraged to comprehend the concepts better and share your knowledge and help other students. It is an integral component of the course and vital for your learning. It is crucial for you to participate in the discussion forums as these are great opportunities to reflect and discuss what you're learning in the course with others. Here you can post your findings, thoughts and queries, and expect an answer from peers and the course moderator. This increases your peer interaction and also gives you a different perspective on the course topics. It is strongly recommended that you visit the relevant prompts to check out the discussion threads. The threads are created by the course moderators to initiate discussions that highlight the important aspects of the topics taught in the week. Let's take a look at the discussion forum on Coursera. You can open the discussion forums on the course by navigating to the course page and clicking the discussion forums tab on the left panel. Here at the top of the page, you can see a search box into the Create Post button. You can use the search box to search threads of all the discussion forums in the course. If you do not find the thread for a topic you're looking for, you can create a new thread by clicking the Create Post button. Once clicked, a pop box opens. In the title section, enter the title of your thread and write down the details in the body section. After writing your post, use the forum drop-down menu to choose the forum you want to publish it. You can create a new thread and any discussion forum of the course from here. In the end, click the "Post" button to create the thread. On the right, the description box for the current week's forum is displayed with a button. You can click the "Go-To Discussion" button to navigate to the forum. The bunks below contains a welcome note for the discussion forums along with a link to form guidelines where you can read about the Coursera code of conduct. The three tabs that you see at the center are all forums, posts for you and your activity. Under the All Forums tab, you can view all the discussion forums of the course. It shows you the discussion prompts of each forum in the number of threads in it. When clicked, threads expand to give you a detailed view. Under the Posts For You tab, you can view the threads that are relevant to you. Under the Your Activity tab, you can view all the activities that you have performed in the forums. When you navigate inside a forum, you can see a Subscribe button on the top. You can click it to subscribe, to receive emails whenever new threads are added to the forum, it is recommended that you visit each form of the course and click the Subscribe button to ensure that you don't miss an important thread. Once you click the subscribe button, it changes to unsubscribe, which you can click to unsubscribe from the forum. You can use the search bar to search the threads for a specific topic in the forum. If you do not find the thread for a topic you are looking for, you can create a new thread by clicking the Create Post button. It is similar to the Create Post button that we saw earlier. Under each thread you can view the number of likes and replies. You can like and reply to a thread by clicking the Like and Reply buttons respectively. You can click a thread to view all the replies. You can also click the Follow this post button to follow the thread and this completes the overview of the course and its assets. Now, let's begin with the learning journey.
