  1. Declare two functions for dividing the array

  2. Create an array function and populate the left subarray

  3. Populate the right subarray and recursively split into left and right subarrays

  4. Test the divide function and create a void function to merge

  5. Sort and merge left and right subarrays in merge function

  6. Sort and merge single elements to the left and right subarrays

  7. Test the merge sort algorithm with user-input data
