A critical portion of project management is examining the successes and challenges of a project after the project has completed. In this project, we will create a Lessons Learned Report that will help the project manager and the project team review their efficiencies and effectiveness. This Lessons Learned Report will be created in Google Docs. Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. We’re currently working on providing the same experience in other regions.

In a video that plays in a split-screen with your work area, your instructor will walk you through these steps:

  1. Define lessons learned, the purpose of documenting the results, and create a Google Doc to use for your Lessons Learned Report.

  2. Create the Lessons Learned Report template and set up the headers.

  3. Create the standard questionnaire and the rating scale.

  4. Create the framework for recommendations and the list of participants.

  5. Create an atmosphere that promotes a successful Lessons Learned meeting.

  6. Review and make needed corrections to names, spelling, grammar, and formatting on completed Lessons Learned Report.
