Prior Learning Credit
In addition to providing job-ready skills, select Specializations and Professional Certificates you’ve completed on Coursera may help you save time and money on a degree.
That’s because Coursera partners like the University of London, the University of North Texas, Illinois Tech, and Ball State University think your Coursera learning should help pave the way toward your degree. They use recognition of prior learning, also known as prior learning credit, to accept specific Professional Certificates for university credit in select degree programs.
This means your Specialization or Professional Certificate could replace one or more courses in a degree, saving you time and money.
How it works:
Step one:
Complete Specializations or Professional Certificates that are eligible for recognition of prior learning
- Explore programs on Coursera that have received credit recommendation from the American Council on Education (ACE®)
- Explore programs on Coursera that have received credit recommendation from the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)
Step two:
Request information about a degree that recognizes prior learning so a Coursera enrollment counselor can help you see if you qualify.
