I'm learning a LOT, and you don't have to take it quite as slowly as they suggest. But, it's nice that there's a manageable pace set out for you. Instructor and guests were great--relatable and clear.

Very well put together and interactive, I love the team incorporated pop up questions in the videos this really helped with the learning process. I'm also impressed at how accurate the transcript it.

I appreciate the effort and resources put to create this course, it's very well organised, but I feel that the content is too basic. I found that there's so much material and you need to spend so many hours just for an introduction. I'd prefer to summarise more this content and put more focus and dedicate more time to the tools that project managers should use in their everyday.

It's informative, but there's a lot of fluff built into this course. There's too much review of covered material. Concepts are repeated over and over again. The course video/reading could probably be cut by 10-20% if they would introduce a topic, and just go over it ONCE

Terrible execution. There is no depth to the course at all. They just throw a bunch of terms out and expect you to be able to then use your life experience to fill in the gaps that they won't cover as opposed to actually training you on methodologies. This has the feeling of a self help program but without the help and there is little to no value in anything that they actually cover. It basically just gives a bunch of project management buzz words and expects you to understand how everything works together.

The content of the course is good but the task and assignments design for foundational class is not inclusive for all. When I try to take assignments, it says to take in computer; but I have only Ipad. If the course design covered for all devices, it would be more effective and productive for all.

Very basic. If you are an entry level professional it might be a good fit; but, if you've managed projects previously then you might want to look at alternatives.

The title of the course is self-explanatory as it truly consists of the foundations of project management. If you have any routine experience working with Agile-Scrum, Waterfall, or Lean Six Sigma, this will be a piece of cake for you, though you may learn more nuanced and interpersonal qualities required in project management and may still find the real-life application job search, keyword use, and interview-style sections of information useful. If the Agile, Waterfall, or Lean Six Sigma methodologies are unfamiliar to you, this will be an excellent place for you to start.
The course is simple and easy to understand and follow. The quizzes are not difficult if you consume the course material as it's designed. The course includes a handy digital note-taking feature, but I preferred to take notes by hand for retention.
To answer a common question: Yes, you can complete the first course in less time than it says it will take. While the course claims to take 4 weeks, someone who's unemployed, not in school, doesn't have kids, and isn't a caregiver can probably complete the entire first course in 11-16 hours. You can earn the first course's certificate (not the Professional Certificate) as soon as you finish the final quiz, at your own pace.
***IMPORTANT FOR THOSE APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID*** If you apply for financial aid to take this Foundations of Project Management course and want financial aid for the other 5 courses in this 6-course Professional Certificate program, know that you will have to separately apply for financial aid for each of the other 5 courses in this 6-course Professional Certificate program. The financial aid application does not umbrella apply to all 6 courses. If you know that you want to take all six and you believe you'll be able to take them quickly in succession, I recommend applying for each of the six courses on the same day or in the same week so that you can progress through all six courses without delay. Otherwise, you have to apply for financial aid for the second course and wait another two weeks after you finish the first course to hear back about your application, and so on. The six courses are listed on the Google Project Management Professional Certificate page about halfway down. Open each one and click on the Financial Aid link to apply to each one separately.

I have 20+ years of experience in Office Management, HR/Benefits, Administration and more, and I took this course planning to complete the full certificate. I am 65% through the second course and I have realized that Project Management is not something that I want to pursue. I love being ON projects, but don't want to manage them on a large scale. That being said, I feel that getting this certificate would ABSOLUTELY help anyone who thinks they want to enter this field, or is already in the field but wants to move into a position with more responsibility. The course material is very relevant and you will get lots of templates, etc. that you will be able to use. Also, in this first course, they have you ask yourself some questions about what kind of person you are/whether you like to organize things, etc. that may help you decide if it may be a good fit for you. As someone who is in a hiring position, if I saw this certificate listed on someone's resume, I would be more likely to pursue them as a candidate for a Project Manager position.

Well structured course. The instructors are great and knowledgeable. The video lectures are short, but well-filmed in an engaging way. This is not just some AI voice reading from a powerpoint presentation, it's actual people speaking about actual experiences. The videos are dispersed between clear and concise reading materials, and useful graded and ungraded quizzes. The quizzes are not "trick questions", and the learner should be able to answer them if they paid attention during the lectures and the readings. All in all, I had no prior formal knowledge in project management, and this course gave me exactly the introduction to PM that I was looking for. Recommended!

The Foundations of Project Management course was extremely helpful and valuable in gaining knowledge, practical skills, measurement, and assessment of concepts needed to know and understand what project management involves; how project management is structured, and why it is valuable to organizations. It was also integrated with career skills insight, job search preparation, and various aspects of learning activities to keep you engaged in the course content. I am looking forward to the next course in this series. I recommend to anyone looking to strengthen their knowledge, deepen their expertise, and practical know-how of this valuable job skill and career field.

It's a very well done course, I really enjoy the way it's structured. I like how videos, readings and testing of knowledge are alternated, which helps remaining focused since it never gets boring.
It's also good that sometimes there are self-reflection questions that can be shared publicly. I think this boosts motivation and helps people understand that they're not alone in this journey.
Since I've started this course, I have had so many ideas on what I could have done better to improve past projects and new ideas about future ones. It really motivates me to move forward to the next course objectives.

There was so much information packed into this course, and it was presented in a clear way, without being overwhelming. I learned that I was indeed already doing project management in my last job; I just didn't know it! This foundations course helped me discern what I already know about project management, and the correct terminology for the roles and duties. It also introduced me to the aspects of the work with which I have had no experience, so I know what concepts and skills I will need to focus on and learn to be a better project manager. I'm looking forward to the next course in the series!

The course is so engaging and professionally structured that it is as inspiring as possible to follow: video lessons are interspersed with text documents, supplemented by practical examples and interesting assignments. A regular quiz on each individual block helps you internalise the knowledge you've gained. The course will be useful for the beginner - there is a lot of new information to be learned. The course will also help experienced professionals - it perfectly structures the knowledge they have previously acquired and gives a new boost of professional motivation.Translated with DeepL

The instructor is excellent and he really followed course material from the beginning to the end. It was so pleasant listening to him and he explained everything in detail, often using real-life examples and situations that he had encountered. This course is a terrific introduction to Project Management and I am certain that both beginners and established Project Managers could benefit from listening to this program, because even though someone is a Project Manager, maybe they have missed some of the foundations mentioned in this course. I am very pleased and happy to continue my journey.

The course material was simple to follow and comprehend. Throughout the several presentations, the presenters were absolutely very clear. I had previously taken an online project management course, and doing so with Coursera has only added to my knowledge. In addition, this course taught me about some new project management methodologies and approaches, which I greatly appreciate. True, we live our lives in the same way that we manage daily projects, big and small. The fees are low, reasonable, and affordable, and I will enthusiastically recommend this course to others who are interested.

As a professional seeking to strengthen my project management skills, I found Google's "Foundations of Project Management" course uniquely valuable. It efficiently equips students with practical methodologies for systematically executing successful projects. I appreciated the course's practical approach over theoretical concepts. My strengthened skills for methodically leading business initiatives end-to-end will prove invaluable for driving my own professional growth. I highly recommend this course to any leader seeking to enrich their hands-on project execution abilities efficiently.

I liked the presenter - strong voice and has the work experience too. Good flow of modules that reinforce your learning step by step. Good use of interactivity to reinforce learning with some short quizzes, a few discussions, and some gameified learning tasks. I have previous practical experience managing group projects at my university, but never received any formal training/class that taught me formal methodologies and best practices. I enjoyed this course, given my prior experience as I made connections of my past experience with the methods/terms/studies presented in this course.

I wasn't sure about the assessment, but its actually alright. I think reliance on MCQs is overrated, so the other types of questions were appreciated, especially the different plug-ins. Discussion is alright, but having more directions about engaging with others would be helpful. Content itself is general, and easily understood. I'd say anyone with a good grasp of English could follow, and anyone who has ever done any role relating to project managment, which is everyone - would find this useful still. It helps put names to ideas we've had, and shows us now ideas too. Thank you.

The project management course covered essential skills, roles, and career paths for project managers. It also provided insights into project lifecycles and different approaches to managing projects. While some concepts were familiar, others were entirely new and insightful. The critical role of project governance and change management was also highlighted, which impacts project success. The course content helped me to identify project management responsibilities that appeal more to me than others. Overall, the course has been an informative and engaging learning experience.

I enjoyed the mixed methods in learning, which greatly improves distance learning away from just reading content. I also like learning checks and quizzes, with references to follow up on for wrong answers. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about is the lack of student discussions and collaboration. Student responses are optional and it seems students don't interact or respond when you reply to their responses. I think there's a missed opportunity here. I was reviewed and graded on my interation with other students for my BA and MA, which were both distance learning courses.

I am so impressed with various styles used in passing on the course content; It was fun and engaging. Completing this course gave me great insight on understanding the core roles, responsibilities, skills and values a project manager brings to the team for successful project delivery. This course equipped me with the different project management approaches with which to effectively deliver various project of varied nature and requirements. Also learning of organizational structure and culture gives that edge to easily align with team and stakeholders for project success.

Although I had learnt these topics in school, it has been a long time since those lessons. This course helped me to reflect on the projects I have taken on in these past 6 years and the factors that made them a success (or failure). I am currently in a transitional part of life, having left my first professional job, and eager to apply my efforts in a broader range of work. I enjoyed the learning experience, and look forward to completing more modules. Thank you Googlers for your contributions in creating and maintaining this course. I appreciate the choices you made.
