About the Course

In this 1-hour long project-based course, you will create a model that simulates the interrelated dynamics of three different species populations within an environment: plants, deer, and wolves By doing so, you’ll be introduced to Insight Maker, a free web-based simulation environment that supports both System Dynamics modeling and Agent Based modeling. This will equip you with everything you need to know in order to build tailor-made models and simulations. Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. I really enjoyed this project and hope to transfer these skills into my academic pursuits. The one challenge I experienced was that the Insight Maker used in the demonstration videos looks to be older than the version that was provided in my browser. Some of the functions looked different and/or appeared in alternate locations which made it a bit harder to follow along with the videos. Overall, great course and would gladly take more of the same!
