About the Course

Build Dynamic User Interfaces (UI) for Websites is the sixth course in a program that will equip you with the skills you need to apply to entry-level jobs in user experience (UX) design. In this course, you will plan a design for a website, create wireframes and prototypes, and test your designs to get feedback. Additionally, you will learn about engaging in design critique sessions and how to give and receive feedback. By the end of this course, you will have a new design project to include in your professional UX portfolio. In addition, you’ll learn how to search for entry-level UX design jobs, create a resume that highlights your skills and accomplishments, and build your professional portfolio website. Current UX designers and researchers at Google will serve as your instructors, and you will complete hands-on activities that simulate real-world UX design scenarios. Learners who complete the seven courses in this certificate program should be equipped to apply for entry-level jobs as UX designers. By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Apply each step of the UX design thinking framework (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test) to create a responsive website. - Plan information architecture and create sitemaps for website designs. - Apply common layouts for web pages. - Plan and conduct a usability study to gather feedback about designs. - Iterate on designs based on research insights. - Work with design systems. - Add a new design project to your professional UX portfolio. - [Optional] Create or update a UX-focused resume. - [Optional] Learn how to search for and apply to introductory-level jobs in the field of UX. This course is suitable for beginner-level UX designers who have completed the previous five courses of the Google UX Design Certificate. Alternatively, learners need to have a strong foundational understanding of the design process; experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes; and the ability to conduct usability studies. No previous experience with Figma is required....

Thank you for providing helpful tips on building a resume and preparing for real-life situations. The Dave course was a fantastic experience, and I am grateful for the valuable insights it provided

While this course contains much redundant information when viewed alongside the other courses in this certificate, the standalone information and practical assignments are valuable and holistic.

This course is thorough and if taken in order with the rest of the classes will give the student an opportunity to test the skills they learned during the first project and even improve on things like efficiency and design fundamentals, but it seems to move along quickly for some of the assigned tasks.

The research plan, research results and lo-fi prototype is lumped into one week, which seems like alot for one week. Ultimately the student has the ability to reset course timelines at their discretion and not be penalized for it, but resetting course timelines should be if there is trouble balancing study and work/life not because the course load is so heavy. Overall great course though and a fun project to work on. This course taught me alot about improving efficiency and becoming proficient in Adobe XD.

Great course but it would be so much more productive and helpful to have experienced people in the field grade the assignments and help identify where our weak spots are and what exactly it is that we are not doing right. You are kind of in the dark the further you get in the courses because you honestly have no idea if you are truly doing things the correct way or not, to someone with experience. I feel the time and money I put into this course could have maybe been spent better on courses that are led by a true instructor. It is a very nicely set up and convenient course and I do hope that it does helps me in my, soon to be, job search.

I like this whole package of the UX design course. I have learned much and am excited to finish the last class. All the instructors and very knowledgeable and teach their sections well. The only issue I have is I wish there were some interaction somehow between the teachers and students and actual group assignments with other students that are interested in learning. I am unsure how this could be done, but I feel it would greatly benefit the learning experience.

Quite good as usual but I'm a bit bummed by a missed opportunity in talking about "responsiveness" more in depth, lessons about break points, how to use grids in clever ways, how to come up with solutions for multiple formats, etc. Instead 80% of the course was a repetition (I understand that repetition is necessary tbh) and job hunting tips and tricks which I thought was going to be in the last course. Anywho!

It's a good class, but it seems like it is very repetitive to the the Create High-Fidelity Designs and Prototypes in Figma. Much of the same content is presented by a different instructor with a lot of re-hashing of the content from the beginning classes. XD is a great tool - I had hoped that 1/3 of the way into the class, there would be newer and more compelling content to learn.

It was an informative and complete module. I enjoyed the fact that we learned to use a new tool (Adobe XD), but we were also allowed to further explore Figma. The teacher is well organized, energic and straightforward. I find it a plus that many topics were repeated because I find it to be a good way to revise some of the relevant steps when needed.

I was finally able to carry out this part of my experience as a UX designer. It was very gratifying for me to review different aspects of the user experience as well as research and implementation of my designs. It is very important to have the end user always present in our user experience implementation processes.

There was a wealth of information and I am comfortable using Adobe XD. However, some of the info was outdated when we learned how to upload materials for use in our designs. Additionally, I wish the instructor would move a bit more slowly in the video, it is hard to follow his mouse.

This course seems to offer a valuable learning experience for individuals looking to enter the field of UX design, especially if they have already completed the previous courses in the Google UX Design Certificate program

The course content is well written and presented. Some of the content is repeated from previous courses in regards to doing user research. I would have liked to see more focus on adapting mobile designs to desktop.
