I enjoyed this course. I learned a lot from it. Although I am familiar with some of the topics, it expanded my knowledge further, and would definitely help me become a more effective manager at work.

This was my first Coursera course and my first dive into HR. I learned a lot of basic skills that will help me transition into more leadership roles in the future. I do recommend that the answer keys of the tests be revisited, as I am fairly certain there was a question or two where the answer was not presented. I really enjoyed this course.

This course provides an extremely basic overview of various things that managers do, and provides no actual insight into implementing strategy. It includes no helpful assignments that might provide hands-on examples, nor does it offer much in the way of going deeper. In addition, the course materials are incredibly poorly written: the tests/assessments are so abysmally written that the simple true/false answer is indecipherable due to poor grammatical structure. I would not recommend this course to anyone looking for actual help in learning management strategies.

Sadly, I cannot recommend this course, it is way too boring, a lot of the topics could be more concise, and the quizzes are a joke, also, "practical" is not a word I would use to describe this course. The thing I really enjoyed was the short videos with examples but I think they missed the opportunity to show in the same way how could we address the situations.

I finished the course just because I don't like to let things halfway.

I don't mean to be harsh, but this course is increibly boring and sluggish. The reading material is heavy, the lecturers speak so slowly and dispassionately that it's impossible to engage with the subject.

I'm sure that there is really good content here, but I couldn't find it.

This course is lack of content. What's worse? The teachers just say all the sentences on their slides. A terrible teaching style with poor content. Please don't take this course. It's a waste of time.

This is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to enhance their managerial skills in today's dynamic workplace. Authored by a team of experienced professionals, the book provides a practical framework that is both comprehensive and accessible. One of the standout features of this guide is its structured approach. The book is divided into clear sections, each focusing on different aspects of management, from communication and motivation to conflict resolution and performance evaluation. This organization allows readers to easily navigate the content and apply it to their specific needs. The practical tools and techniques offered throughout the book are particularly noteworthy. Each chapter includes actionable strategies, real-world examples, and reflective exercises that encourage readers to apply what they’ve learned. This hands-on approach not only makes the material engaging but also ensures that readers can implement the concepts in their own teams. The authors emphasize the importance of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills in effective management. By integrating these elements, the book highlights how managers can foster a positive workplace culture, build strong relationships with their teams, and ultimately drive better performance. While the book is rich in practical advice, it also addresses the challenges that modern managers face, such as remote team dynamics and the impact of technology on management practices. This relevance makes "The Manager's Toolkit" a timely read for both new and seasoned managers looking to adapt to evolving workplace landscapes. In summary, "The Manager's Toolkit" is a must-read for anyone aiming to improve their management capabilities. With its blend of practical tools, real-world insights, and a focus on interpersonal relationships, this book serves as an essential guide to becoming a more effective and empathetic leader. Highly recommended for professionals across all industries.

This course has helped me in the analysis of leadership skills, that when it comes to leading people, one has to be democratic instead of being autocratic in order to get the best from the applicants. It gave me the ability to assess applicants in the interview instead of stereotyping them to a particular culture or acts. I also had opportunity of an overview of a selection method used across a range of job and occupation, a measure of personality, candidate physical disposition during interview, then the Hawk and Dove type of interview. I can assure you that I can now manage conflict with people, both at workplace and at home. The belief that certain set of people/culture are wicked and cruel just because one person from the tribe annoyed me is no longer in my instinct. I treat each and everyone according to their situation and behavior. Thank you Coursera for this opportunity given to me to add to my knowledge. Best regards

The course has a great content and has managed to capture key aspects of people management at the workplace. I am a Human Resources Generalist (with a direct reporting line to the Executive team) and I feel that it was a great choice to use this course as a foundation. I may not have any direct reports at the moment but I manage all the HR and administration components of the daily business at work so this was a good one for me. The course has taken me through: The nature and causes of conflicts in organisations, Pay as motivator, Performance management, Leadership and decision making and, Interviews.

I really enjoyed the course and found it incredibly valuable for deepening my understanding of workplace conflict management and performance appraisal methods. The tests, especially those on S.M.A.R.T. goals, performance management cycles, and the different approaches to handling workplace conflict, were particularly insightful. They helped reinforce key concepts and gave me practical insights into applying these techniques in real-world scenarios. Thank you for an engaging and informative experience!

I appreciated the theoretical and practical explanations on each topic. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the supporting articles throughout the course. The additional slides supporting lectures and Coursera feature of highlighted captioning helped me review and understand materials better. Hearing information from several professors was welcome, and the supporting skits added some drama and humor. I was surprised at the quality of acting also!

I enjoyed this course very much. The videos and examples were great. I have learned so much that I can take forward with me. Online reading was a bit much at times an call me old fashioned but I wish I had a book to flip through, or the handout toolkit itself. Having said that, this has been the best free course I have undertaken and I want to go further.

Being a leader , Building a Team, Making decisions, rewarding and managing conflicts. Everything is here. I like how the first part of each week is about how things used to be and then the rest of the week is about better ways. I have worked for people that seriously needed this course. I feel I will be a good manager from now on. Thank you!

100% Recomendado.

It is a practical and interesting course, which challenges the previous held thinking that management and leadership cannot be taught. It helps also to grow one's analytical thinking with evidence based management and leadership theories. The educators are very good and the quizzes keep underscoring the most important points.

I could relate to all the issues that were mentioned here in this managerial training programme. I had worked on the issues at a subconscious level based on experience and application of mind. From now onwards I will be more conscious after going through all the course material here. This has been very useful for me.

The course was easy very insightful and straight forward, as the name aptly implies it was a condensation of knowledge gained from different sources. The lectures were fantastically stright to the heart of practical managing. I would recommend the course to experienced as well as entry level managers

I took this course to get a head start on what it means to become a manager and I've learned so much! Just from the very first week, I was well equipped with the necessary knowledge to tackle feedback I've received from interviews. I would highly recommend it if you are or want to go into Management.
