The CompTIA Project+ (PK0-005) exam is designed for individuals with practical hands-on experience managing projects, whether in Information Technology (IT) or some other discipline. This course will cover all the objectives divided into the 4 domains that CompTIA has determined are most valuable for managing projects: project management concepts, project life cycle phases, tools and documentation, and basics of IT and governance.

This is a complete course for the PK0-005 Project+ exam; and all our videos are written to correlate exactly with the CompTIA exam objectives. We break down the topics from the exam objectives into 5-10 minutes videos so that you can find exactly what you are looking for to learn that piece of information, and then you can decide to watch another video or come back later and continue your studies. If you are taking the CompTIA Project+ PK0-005 exam, you may know that many organizations require you to have a Project+ certification to work for that organization. This is especially true for governmental agencies or very large corporations that have an emphasis in project management disciplines. But even if you're not required to earn the Project+ certification for your job, it can still provide you with a great deal of personal knowledge and satisfaction.

In this module, we will dive into a variety of objectives related to Domain 1: Project management concepts. First, we will explain the basic characteristics of a project and various methodologies and frameworks used in IT projects and compare and contrast Agile vs. Waterfall concepts. Then we will cover what to do when given a scenario, how to apply the change control process throughout the project life cycle, perform risk management and issue management activities, and apply schedule development and management activities and techniques, apply effective meeting management techniques and perform basic activities related to team and resource management. Next, we will compare and contrast quality management concepts and performance management concepts and communication management concepts. Finally, we will explain important project procurement and vendor selection concepts.

Module 2 will help you manage stakeholder expectations within project constraints and understand important project procurement and vendor selection concepts. We'll also explain how to develop contingency plans to address project constraints, project procurement and vendor selection concepts, the value of artifacts in the discovery/concept preparation phase for a project. You will learn to perform activities during the project initiation, planning, and execution phase. Finally, we'll explain the importance of activities performed during the closing phase.
