Explore the range of uses for the Javascript .animate method and the different ways you can begin incorporating it into your Javascript creations
In this course, we’ll guide you through a series of hands-on projects. You’ll build your own animations used in telling stories, in conveying data for presentations and in simple games for motivating kids. Everything will be done using only HTML, CSS and Javascript (ES6), so you’ll gain the foundational skills applicable to any other visualization or game framework you might wish to use later. Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. We’re currently working on providing the same experience in other regions.
In a video that plays in a split-screen with your work area, your instructor will walk you through these steps:
Create a simple animation that moves an object from one side of the screen to the other.
Sequence the first animation with a second one which plays after the first completes.
Create an animation containing natural feeling acceleration and deceleration.
Create a visual representation of abstract data.
Animate the previous visualization in a way that lets viewers experience the size and scale of the numbers presented.
Group together multiple elements to be animated together as one.
Create a simple game where animations respond to being clicked or touched.
Your workspace is a cloud desktop right in your browser, no download required
