Build custom Unity Editor tools that automate repetitive workflows and improve game-development productivity.
Master Unity Editor scripting, custom inspectors, editor windows, asset tools, workflow automation, testing, and distribution.
This Specialization provides a practical pathway from foundational Unity Editor scripting to the development of reusable, production-oriented editor tools. You will create custom inspectors, property and decorator drawers, Scene view controls, Gizmos, snapping systems, palettes, menus, editor windows, and advanced GUI interfaces.
As you progress, you will work with Handles, editor events, GUI styles, reusable settings, modular components, DLLs, and asset-import workflows. You will then apply these skills to larger development challenges by creating object-modification tools, project-wide search and replacement features, selection filters, grouping functions, and prefab-management systems.
You will also learn to integrate version control, test editor functionality, organize reusable components, and package tools for distribution. By the end of the Specialization, you will be able to design Unity Editor extensions that reduce manual work, improve level-design and asset-management workflows, and support more scalable development across projects and teams.
