This module provides detailed knowledge of water management and compressed air systems essential for efficient and reliable thermal power plant operation. It covers raw water intake systems, water source selection, intake components, water chemistry, water quality analysis, water balance, circulating water systems, cooling towers, water treatment methods including pre-treatment, chemical dosing, filtration, demineralization through ion exchange and reverse osmosis, chlorination, condensate polishing, power cycle chemical treatment, and steam and water analysis systems (SWAS). The module also introduces compressed air systems, including instrument and service air systems, types of compressors, major components, system flow paths, and selection criteria.
