Reviewed Jul 17, 2026I’ve been trying to complete the "Capstone Project: Applying UI/UX Design in the Real World" course on Coursera, and I am left with a very negative impression. First of all, the estimated time for the lab assignments is listed as 15–20 minutes, whereas in reality, they take hours of work. On top of that, their AI grading system fails to provide any actual explanation for the final test scores. Why does IBM even grade in such a strict manner? This isn’t a university. I understand using AI to ensure the work is done independently, but suffocating students over every single line is unacceptable. Dear IBM Instructors, have you actually tried taking your own labs? I doubt you could finish them in 15–20 minutes without using AI yourself. P.S. If you're considering a specialization, it's best to choose one from Google; it's more structured and has a fair grading system. Save yourself time and stress.

Reviewed May 14, 2026Links to handoffs do not work, the project is poorly structured, and the scenario is very far from how real projects work(I am a UI/UX designer and chose this course to deepen my knowledge of my craft). This entire project feels like a waste of your time and gives you nothing but headaches. Absolutely do not recommend this - want to have and learn something - get a client and learn from your own mistakes. Cause this segment of the course will not teach you a thing.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2026It is very irresponsible to make the peer review assignment be reviewed by students. What if the platform doesn't have any students then your PAID Certification have a delay even if you submitted the last project.
