Discover the magic of watercolor painting, learn the fundamentals, and create your first original pieces of art with Louise Stigell. This class is for absolute beginners who are curious about watercolors but feel a little intimidated or overwhelmed. Whether you’ve never held a paintbrush or have tried painting before without much success, you’re welcome here!

Louise will guide you through three parts of the creative process, starting with preparing an inspiring workspace and getting to know your brushes, colors, and materials. You’ll then explore the basics of watercolor through playful, relaxing exercises, using abstract painting to let go of the fear of the blank page and build confidence with your tools. Finally, you’ll put what you’ve learned into practice, creating your own original artwork while developing your intuition and discovering your artistic voice. By the end of this course, you’ll understand the fundamentals of watercolor, feel more comfortable experimenting with color and brushwork, and have the confidence to paint more freely and playfully. No previous art experience is required, just an open mind and a willingness to explore. More than learning a new skill, this class is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your creativity, and build an art practice that calms and nourishes you.
