I approached this course with the bias that climate change was real. This conclusion was drawn from what I read, and observations made over my lifetime. While I was in the believer camp, I was reluctant to engage in debate for fear that my "gut" reaction could be refuted by other facts I was not aware of. This course provided the underlying science to support my strengthened conclusion that the earth is warming and that man is responsible. While some of the reading took me several passes to digest, I think the course struck a good balance between providing the evidence underlying the scientific conclusions, and not making it so technical that people simply can't understand how the conclusions were derived.

I highly recommend this course to get a clear, evidence-based, up-to-date understanding of the science of climate change, what threats we're facing, where we are in addressing the problem, and what most needs to be done. The scientific information shared is powerful, detailed yet succinct, and very clearly communicated. As a result of what I learned, I have much greater clarity about the current reality and how I can best use my own skills to help solve the problem and prepare my family and community for the changes to come.

Well organized and well presented

The video lectures were excellent: the lecturer spoke clearly, and the graphics and animations were well done. There were many readings but they were short, and anyone who does all the reading assignments can honestly say they have read a nontrivial part of an IPCC report, which is no small achievement. The graded assignments were reasonable and tested one's knowledge of the course material effectively. I felt that I learned a lot from this course. Thanks to the team that prepared it.
