About the University

Tomsk State University (TSU), founded in 1878, is the largest classical university in the Asian part of Russia. It is ranked among the world’s top 250 universities, and for Linguistics is ranked in the group 101-150. TSU offers online and offline master’s programs in over 60 study areas. The number of international students is continually increasing; currently there are more than 3,000 students from 70 countries.

About the department

The Faculty of Foreign Languages at Tomsk State University was founded in 1995 and has established a reputation as a leader in educating future teachers, translators and linguists. The Department of Translation and Language Communication was established by Dr Peter J Mitchell in 2019 to prepare specialists in education, communication and innovation.
