Evgeny Sokolov

Evgeny Sokolov graduated from Moscow State University in 2013 with a computer science degree. He has 9 years of experience in Data Science, including projects on bioinformatics, forecasting and supply chain optimization, recommender systems and information retrieval. Evgeny is a senior lecturer and deputy head of Big Data and Information Retrieval department at Higher School of Economics – one of Russia's top universities, where he teaches courses on machine learning and helps to introduce data science courses into all B.Sc. programs. He has also been working at Yandex since 2014, where he has participated in development of CatBoost (open-source machine learning library), taken part in numerous projects for external customers at Yandex Data Factory and leaded recommender system quality team at Yandex.Zen (personal recommendations service).

Vladimir V. Podolskii

Academic Supervisor

Vladimir V. Podolskii is a senior research fellow at Steklov Institute of Mathematics in Moscow and an associate professor at the Computer Science Department of Higher School of Economics. His scientific interests lie in the field of Computational Complexity and related fields of Computer Science and Mathematics.

Andrei Zimovnov graduated from Moscow State University in 2013 with a computer science degree. Andrei is a senior data scientist / machine learning engineer at Yandex – a Russian search giant, where he has been working on various machine learning projects involving computer vision, natural language processing and recommender systems. Andrei is also a senior lecturer at Higher School of Economics, where he teaches courses on machine learning.

Ilya Golubev

Ilya Golubev

Guest Lecturer

Ilya Golubev is a Data Scientist at Vezet Group (Vezet Group is a taxi-service that has operations in over 100 cities all over Russia) and a guest lecturer at National Research University Higher School of Economics, where he teaches data analysis. At Vezet Group, Golubev and his team develop and maintain scalable predictive models, form and test various hypotheses which help find better business solutions and provide better user experience. He received his BS and MSc from the National Research University Higher School of Economics, and graduated from Yandex Data School.
