Each course is organized into 5 week segments, but learners can go at their own pace, and many proceed much faster. Course content covered in quizzes is noted, plus bonus content for learners who are motivated for more training.

We assume that learners are academically trained in a scientific or medical discipline, and have some formal research training and coursework in research methods. These courses do not substitute for introductory biostatistics, for example, but rather assumes that you learned the basics and need help applying the learning to the task of a grant proposal. You will still need specific scientific or content area mentorship, but this course will give you many answers about grant proposals. It will also prepare you to ask mentors the right questions to plan and write a grant proposal for health research. The course will help all research grant writers, but we specialize in the biomedical sciences and health care research, and as such our examples will refer to clinical or health care research topics.

No, each course can stand alone and meets its own learning goals. Your own experience and expertise will guide you to fill your own gaps or pursue the courses as refreshers. Consider take Grant Proposal Plans, Sections, and Resubmissions, then Biostatistics Study Design and Analysis, and finally Scientific Writing. We recommend that you take all three courses as they build on each other and reinforce prior learning.
