This Specialization guides learners through a structured journey in Linux shell scripting, starting with foundational skills and progressing to advanced automation and security practices. The first course introduces core shell concepts, command interpretation, variable management, pipelines, I/O redirection, environment customization, and essential text stream filters.
The second course builds on these foundations, covering script construction, text filtering using grep, sed, and regex, function usage, mathematical operations, automation with here documents and expect, text processing with awk, scripting with ImageMagick, creating user interfaces with yad, dialog, xdialog, and using shell options with getopts.
The third course focuses on portability, security, debugging, and Z Shell scripting, equipping learners with professional techniques to write reliable, maintainable, and secure scripts. Across the three courses, participants gain hands-on experience applying concepts, tools, and methods to real-world Linux environments.
