This course explores the impact of puberty, hormones, and brain development on everything from health to decision-making, while showing how the influence of friends, family, and society shapes their choices and experiences. By the end of this course, you will have a clear understanding of what makes adolescence such a unique and pivotal time in life.

In this course, you’ll explore the major changes that happen as children grow into teenagers and young adults. We’ll start by looking at the physical changes of puberty, including how hormones and brain development affect everything from growth to sexual development. You’ll learn about common health challenges that teens face, and how their thinking and decision-making skills develop during these years. We’ll also dive into how teens figure out who they are (identity development) and how friends, family, and society influence their choices and experiences. By the end of this course, you’ll have a better understanding of what makes adolescence such a unique and important time in life.
