There are 9 modules in this course

This module offers a critical exploration of the educational philosophies articulated by some of the prominent thinkers such as Makiguchi, Tagore, Gandhi, Dewey, Paulo Freire, Vygotsky, and Montessori. Through a comparative analysis of their conceptions of learning and leadership, participants are invited to interrogate the foundational values, cultural contexts, and transformative aims that have shaped educational thought across diverse eras and geographies. Engaging deeply with these varied perspectives not only broadens intellectual horizons but also challenges participants to reflect on their own assumptions about education. Such reflection is intended to foster the intellectual agility and ethical insight essential for effective and visionary educational leadership. Social justice in education is grounded in theories that promote fairness and equity in resource distribution (distributive justice), recognition of diverse identities (recognitional justice), and inclusive participation (associative justice). It emphasizes empowering students through critical pedagogy to challenge oppressive systems and fosters multicultural, inclusive practices. These principles guide schools to create equitable, transformative learning environments that promote social change and empower all learners.
