Program description

Master key architectural principles and develop the skills needed to become a Cloud expert


With top global organisations continuing to adopt and harness the power of the cloud, skilled cloud professionals are in high demand. In this programme, you will build expertise in designing, planning, and scaling cloud implementations.

You will first build a strong foundation in cloud computing and its applications. You will then learn how to design, develop, and deploy a full-fledged cloud computing application.

As you advance through the programme, you’ll learn how to:

  • Navigate cloud computing platforms and XR applications.
  • Design full-fledged cloud computing based applications using Docker and other open source software.
  • Build and deploy XR applications using Unity and other open source tools, to be compatible with leading cloud platform providers - AWS, Microsoft Azure and GCP.

This programme will be useful for IT professionals, project leads, managers in tech companies and data/ coding professionals. Individuals looking to enter or specialise in cloud computing applications can also enrol for this programme.

Required background

Fundamentals of Cloud Computing


In this course, you will learn the fundamental working principles of popular cloud computing platforms predominantly used in data intensive applications. You will also learn how typical mobile applications interface with cloud through the edge network and computer systems.

Cloud and Content Delivery Networking Systems


In this course, you will learn the fundamental building blocks of cloud and content delivery networks, and the architecture of modern web applications. You will develop a working knowledge of how the upcoming immersive multimedia streaming applications work on cloud and how the cloud networking protocols are going to play a key role in the future networked XR applications.

Introduction to Extended Reality (XR)


In this course, you will be introduced to the field of extended reality, which includes virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality. You will learn about the field of XR and how human sensory organs play an important role in the development of successful XR systems. You will also get an in-depth introduction to XR hardware and software and the various methods of interaction with XR environments.

XR Foundation


In this course, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the XR system development process. You will first learn about the stages to build XR systems. You will then be introduced to computer graphics and computer vision for better understanding of the working of an XR system. You will also explore the use of cloud computing in the development and deployment of XR systems.

Design and Implementation of AR/VR Systems


In this course, you will learn about the Unity engine in detail along with two SDKs - one for VR system development and the other for AR system development. You will also learn to test and deploy the systems on desktop, s/laptops, and mobile platforms.
