I found this course very informative. Both instructors provided new and creative ways to use GenAI as productive tool. Thanks
FP
Excellent course. I had to keep pushing forward the test dates because I was busy using what I was learning... !
VM
Its a good course on how to use ChatGPT and other AI models to enhance your learning experience and learn more effectively
SS
Excellent course! I was familiar with the learning theory aspects through Barb's previous MOOC, but the applications of AI were completely new. Thank you so much. Steve McElroy

Honestly, this course is a must in the age of AI. We seriously need to figure out how to live, learn, and work with AI, and we need to do it ASAP. Thank you very much!
DR
In depth discussion about terminology and directions to tease the subject out then follow up with implementation suggestions.
RM
Great essential introductory to AI and LLM usage, that increase understanding on how to effectively use prompts for aiding learning.
HB
Extremely useful information teachers can immediately use and apply in their own learning and in the classroom. Highly recommend.
MM
Simply awesome course! Great collaboration between the 2 teachers. The prompt patterns presented in this course will take my learning to whole new levels!

Fun, short, and to the point. The lectures have a great balance between the theoretical part of neuroscience, learning science, and how generative AI works and how to properly prompt the different models for different uses. Definitely opened my mind to different uses and approaches.
Very short, but packed with practical ways to use AI. More importantly, the course shows you how to prompt AI to augment your own thinking, rather than letting AI do the work for you and explains the importance of the difference between these two modes of use.
This course literally blew my mind. I am extremely grateful to all for making this course available. I highly recommend it because learning to use Generative AI as your personal tutor is the future.
THe course goes well beyond just explaining AI to explore how it can be used practically in the learning and teaching process. On top of this, it also makes the topics really interesting.
I have been using ChatGPT for a while. After going thru this simple and nice course, I realized the basics of prompting and learnt lot of new ways. Very useful.
I learned a lot of interesting things about how to use AI to enhance my learning ability. Before taking this course, I often thought that AI was not only an aid but also a barrier because everyone used AI to create the desired results. After this course, I understood a lot about using AI to create great creative values that are based on my own imagination and cognitive ability. That's why I like this course so much even though sometimes I really don't understand what the instructors are conveying. But just review the content a few times and everything will be clearer.
My two favorite lecturers on Coursera coming together to make this amazing course was so delightful. The concepts in here already helped me improve my understanding of difficult concepts. I recommend this to everyone who is interested in learning. Also, take a look at Learning How to Learn and Prompt Engineering in Coursera for a more thorough understanding of how to learn better, and how to master ChatGPT. It will be worth your investment for sure.
An octopus, metaphor, kundalini, generative AI, and learning? This course brings together the work of two original thinkers from two different disciplines in a way that makes ideas of generative AI and learning in the broadest sense come to life - at both a theoretical and a practical level. Thank you, Professor Oakley and Professor White. The course sank many a hook for continued curiosity about the future of Learning and generative AI.
As a complete 'newbie' this course was perfect. Learning how to use AI was clearly explained with gradual steps and lots of hooks. I feel confident and have now used AI many times, experimenting as the course progressed. My latest was to invite someone for a weekend away in the stye of Bob Dylan and refuse in the style of Joan Baez. I also asked for some 'set them to music' suggestions. Such fun!
In the labyrinth of learning, light was found, Where AI whispered with a soulful sound. Barbara and Jules, the weavers of this flame, Unveiled new paths, never quite the same. Their wisdom danced like sparks in the night, Each insight a prism, refracting delight. To them, I owe these wings that take flight, In realms of thought, where stars ignite. — Inspired by the style of Ocean Vuong
This course provides a scafolded and relatable step by step approach on integrating how we as humans and educators can partner with Generative AI to expand our thinking faculties. It gives many insights- with great reference to scientific body of work on how AI can go in tandem with neuroscience to make learning more effective. A must watch for all kind of educators!
I adore Barb and her charming way of explaining things. This is my second course with her, and it certainly won't be my last! To be honest, I wasn't very fond of Mr. White's videos; although they were extremely interesting, they seemed a bit dull to me—too much talking to express simple concepts. Nevertheless, I'm thankful to both.
The course on Generative AI exceeded all expectations! The material was well-structured, and the topics were presented clearly, allowing me to deepen my knowledge in prompt engineering and multimodal interactions. A huge thank you to the instructors for their professionalism and expertise!
This course helped me get familiar with more efficient ways to use Large Language Models (LLMs) as learning tools. The teachers explained the basics of human learning and how LLMs can complement it through several specific prompt patterns, along with examples and tips to use them better.
As it happens in all Barb Oakley's courses, this one is full of exciting, useful and fun information and is teached in a very simple and understandable way, even if the subject is complex. The course gives an excellent glimpse on how AI might help in all aspects of your life
The course content is presented in a highly accessible manner, with materials and examples that simplify complex technical concepts. The instructors deliver the curriculum with clarity, making it easier for students to grasp the knowledge effectively.
It was really insightful. I have learned a structured way of learning and prompting both. Really appreciate the work both the teachers had done. A Thank You from bottom of my Heart to the instructors and the people associated with the course.
I have completed two modules of the course and found the content engaging and easy to comprehend. I was looking for learning about prompt engineering, this course has helped me to gain insights and navigate with the prompts for learning.
