Not enough mapping but too much focus on problem solving methodology instead. I would rather go through some bacis examples with the instructor, building actual maps.

Analyzing and effectively utilizing Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is crucial for businesses and professionals because it provides a clear methodology for identifying inefficiencies and improving operational workflows. This course offers a visual representation of all actions both value added and non-value-added—required to bring a product or service from initial stages to the end customer. By gaining comprehensive visibility into these processes, businesses can pinpoint exactly where delays, redundancies, and unnecessary steps occur. Participants who complete this course will develop skills in analysis and strategic thinking, leading to actionable insights that enhance process efficiencies and deliver better results within their organizations. This course is designed for team leaders, supervisors, and managers responsible for individuals and teams, as well as professionals in business process, supply chain management, and logistics across various industries. It aims to support those who oversee process improvements and operational efficiency in their organizations. Participants should have a basic knowledge of process management. Team and process leaders are expected to have a solid grasp of process management tools and best practices to fully benefit from the course. By the end of this course, learners will be able to identify the purpose and benefits of using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) in process improvement. They will utilize standard VSM symbols and notations to represent processes, material flows, and information flows. Additionally, learners will analyze completed Value Stream Maps to identify areas of waste and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Very practical and user friendly course and well delivered

i found this course to be brief, concise and to the point. In slightly over an hour it encompasses theory AND practical exercises to map out value streams with increasingly degree of difficulty (and relevance). Yes, the exercises lack solution, but a quick search in the internet after you put some thought into it, will render the solution. In short, for the time that it takes to watch a bad movie in Netflix, you can master VSM and refresh on 7 wastes of lean (TIMWOOD) and root cause (5 why's, fish bone etc.). Additionally, you can follow up with an equally good course from Coursera Instructor Network "Lean Mfg & Robotics for flexible Systems"..., Good luck!
This training module is very insightful. Just a little request, I feel before giving the participant a chance to practice what they learn, A step by step illustration will go a long way. Anyways, Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with us
A brief but full course. Thanks, it supported me a lot to my Master final workpaper!
GREAT COURSE!!

Well detail explanation done
The information was neat an told in a efficient manner. Good extra materials, and I think you can get good understanding of how to do a good VSM. Minor problems is that there were little or no helpful exercises on this (some minor "tasks" in video which werent really properly implemented), so practical task planning is left for user. There was also a mistake on the last exam, where question 5. in my case gave wrong answer, when the answer reply said that my answer was the right choice.
Not helpful in actually learning how to perform VSM. Similar content to reading a Wikipedia article, just takes longer. I do not understand how the exercises should be performed without teaching the methodology before.
very limited understanding of actual (Toyota/Lean) VSM demonstrated by the creator of this course
