This was a very practical and useful course. The knowledge gained is very helpful in daily operations in engineering price modelling .

In Finance for Technical Managers, you will explore the fundamental principles of financial management. Topics include understanding and interpreting a company’s financial statements, the time value of money and its role in evaluating the economic viability of different projects, and the annual capital budgeting process every company performs when selecting which projects to fund. In addition, you will cover some highly practical topics, such as how to determine product costs, establishing a department’s annual budget, and ways of forecasting future sales. As a side benefit, the quantitative skills you will learn for business are identical to the skills necessary to manage your own personal finances. Therefore, you will extend your analyses to cover investing of mutual funds composed of stocks and bonds, and you will explore the fascinating area of asset allocation. This specialization can be taken for academic credit as part of CU Boulder’s Master of Engineering in Engineering Management (ME-EM) degree offered on the Coursera platform. The ME-EM is designed to help engineers, scientists, and technical professionals move into leadership and management roles in the engineering and technical sectors. With performance-based admissions and no application process, the ME-EM is ideal for individuals with a broad range of undergraduate education and/or professional experience. Learn more about the ME-EM program at https://www.coursera.org/degrees/me-engineering-management-boulder.

Peer evaluation process consume more time. which is not satisfying
TJ
very well put together coarse. A few of the test / quiz questions needed a little more for front thought on them.

Course at such is good. However, to submit an excel assignment in csv.file is a total disaster. After 50 attemps and through an external converter I was able to submit. Many students had this problem but apparently nothing is done to resolve this obstacle.
very well put together coarse. A few of the test / quiz questions needed a little more for front thought on them.
Excellent course. The instructor is fantastic and content really well delivered.
I classify myself as a novice in this coursework and the Professor did an excellent job of conveying the key principles and also eliciting my interest in the subject matter. I came away with a new appreciation for my current job tasks and look forward to using my enhanced skills in the future. To boot, I have a better understanding of my personal finances. I've already started the second class in this certification and enjoy the material and the Professor's teaching style.
Fantastic course! The professor is doing a great job explaining the topics and the course structure is very pleasant too.
Excellent course, all the concepts are very well explained, and the course material is great.
Good!
the first half of this course was useful. the second half, devoted to personal finance, should be in a personal finance course. it does not really belong in this course, and was a waste of my time.
granted, some people might find it very useful, but it should be a separate course since the content is not really relevant to the title of this course.
submitting the .csv for the assignment was confusing and really not useful, since the equations and values were all included. basically, there is little learning when someone can just copy and paste.
Good materials but grading is terrible. Had a lot of troubles with week 5 assignment. It is hopeless waiting for peer review to complete the course. Please help
The last assignment is total BS.
I like this course very much ,when in my work ,i know some thing by experience, but don't know why ,and even before i study this course, I don't know how to calculate from Excel on FV ,PV etc. i just make the mathematical formula in excel by hand .when i study from the course ,Wow! just input =FV, then it is automatically show how to input .What a treasure course.I want to recommend it to my colleagues. And by the way ,The CU Boulder courses are much better than the finance and accounting courses I have studied before in China, it is simple and easy to understand. Thank you, Mr. Michael Readey .
This is a great course that provides insight into finance from a business perspective as well as applying your learnings to real life scenarios. I really enjoyed the instructor. He is easy to follow, explains difficult concepts with ease and breaks down the course so that is not overwhelming and understandable.
Excellent course with practical assignments. I took this course for credit. The final exam goes over everything in the course, so make sure you understand the mathematical analysis and do the spreadsheet exercises to do well if you take this course for credit with CU.
The course content was highly relevant and presented with exceptional clarity and conciseness. I am deeply grateful to the instructor for his passion, commitment to student success, and his ability to effectively transfer knowledge in a simplified manner.
I loved this course. I learned a lot about product costs and investment analysis. It was challenging for me to understand how to invest, but thanks to the guidance of the professor, I got it, and I feel much more confident in these topics now.
