Scrum for Everyone is a beginner-friendly Specialization from Scrum Alliance that teaches you how to use scrum to plan, collaborate, and deliver value in any role or industry. As AI speeds up the pace of change, agility has become one of the most important capabilities a team can have, and scrum gives you a practical way to build it.
This Specialization is designed for team members, project coordinators, managers, team leads, and anyone curious about agile ways of working. No prior experience is required.
Across six courses, you will develop:
Agile foundations: The values and principles behind agile and how to tell when scrum is the right fit.
Scrum framework fluency: The product owner, scrum master, and developer accountabilities, plus scrum events, artifacts, and commitments.
High-performing team skills: Psychological safety, cross-functionality, self-management, and shared ownership.
Facilitation skills: Active listening, powerful questioning, and techniques for focused, inclusive scrum events.
Product delivery practices: Backlog refinement, story points and T-shirt sizing, velocity, burn-down charts, and a strong definition of done.
Adoption strategies: How to introduce scrum in a traditional organization and work through common roadblocks.
Built by Scrum Alliance, a nonprofit certifying body and global community of agile practitioners, this program uses practical scenarios and real-world labs so you can start applying scrum with your team right away.
Applied Learning Project
Throughout the Specialization, you will apply scrum to realistic workplace scenarios drawn from a range of industries. You will analyze team situations and explain how the product owner, scrum master, and developers would each contribute. You will practice facilitation techniques for sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, and refine a product backlog by ordering, splitting, and adding detail to items. You will size backlog items with story points and T-shirt sizing and define what done means for a quality increment. In the final course, you will work through scenario labs on common adoption roadblocks, such as leadership reluctance and role ambiguity, and build a tailored action plan for introducing scrum in a non-scrum environment. You will finish with work samples you can discuss with your manager or in interviews.
