The module introduces concepts such as Kanban systems for inventory control and compares automation approaches such as pick-to-light systems and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). It also focuses on how continuous improvement initiatives are structured and implemented using Kaizen principles, including how improvement plans are defined, executed, and monitored. By the end of the module, you'll be able to evaluate optimization opportunities, assess automation solutions, and develop structured improvement plans to enhance supply chain performance.

For the final project, you will complete an integrated scenario combining process improvement, quality, risk management, and optimization. Using a structured case, you will: analyze process inefficiencies and flow issues, evaluate quality performance and risks, assess operational risks using FMEA concepts, evaluate automation and optimization options, and develop a comprehensive improvement plan with prioritized actions.
