The academic requirement of a minimum 2.1 is for applicants who hold or who are working towards a UK qualification. Suitable applicants should have a background in: medicine, health sciences, biological sciences or environmental sciences.
All Imperial applicants must also show that they have a high level of written and spoken English to meet the demands of our challenging academic environment (equivalent to IELTS 7.0). Find out more about our English language requirements for postgraduate study.
Application Process
Create an application via the Imperial College London ‘Apply' webpage and prepare the information you will need to complete your application, including:
You will need to complete a personal statement as part of your application. These statements support your application by demonstrating that the course is right for you and that you have the skills, knowledge and aptitude to achieve the course requirements. They are normally around one to two pages of text.
Please upload scanned copies of the academic transcripts and certificates for the higher education qualifications you already hold when you apply.
We seek in-depth information about your skills in order to understand how this programme will help you achieve your professional goals.
You will need to provide the names of two suitable referees. One must be an academic reference, the second referee may be another academic referee, or where appropriate/relevant, a professional referee.
There is a non-refundable application fee of £80 to cover the administrative and staffing costs associated with processing the large volume of applications that Imperial receives.
Imperial will waive the fee for any applicant – Home or Overseas – who demonstrates that they are experiencing financial hardship. Please see Imperial's website for further information.
For the three year Master’s programme, students must first enrol on a one year Postgraduate Certificate programme. Students who complete the Certificate will have the option to continue on to study for a one year Postgraduate Diploma, followed by the option of a final year to achieve the Master’s qualification.
We aim to review applications in detail once all information has been submitted. The process takes 6-8 weeks.
