Il y a 4 modules dans ce cours

Every Linux administration task depends on one everyday literacy: finding a way around the server, and putting files where they belong. This module builds that literacy for systems administrators, IT operations and help desk staff, infrastructure support, and cloud operations teams. Learners navigate the filesystem hierarchy, read directory structure, and manage files and directories from the command line — creating, moving, copying, and organizing them with intent. They work with absolute paths, the single rooted directory tree, mount points, and the standard that fixes where each kind of file belongs. They learn why a file's location is part of its state, so moving a file can change who can read it. The module connects this hands-on file management to configuration management, secure configuration, and the audit practice of keeping a host's files at documented, monitored locations — the foundation a team relies on to show its systems are under control.

Installing and updating software on a Linux server is a core system administration skill, and getting it right takes more than knowing which command to run. This module builds practical package management skills for systems administrators, IT operations, help desk, infrastructure support, and cloud operations staff. Learners install, update, and remove software packages from configured repositories, resolve dependencies, and verify that a host is running the software it claims to be running. They work with the package manager and its repositories, software versions and dependencies, cryptographic signature verification, and the transaction history that records every change and the path to reverse it. The payoff is a host whose software state is not just current, but provably so — known, documented, and defensible in an audit — the practical foundation for patch management, vulnerability remediation, and secure software configuration.

Controlling services and processes is a core Linux system administration skill, and doing it deliberately means more than knowing which command starts a daemon. This module builds practical service management skills with systemd for systems administrators, IT operations, help desk, infrastructure support, and cloud operations staff. Learners start, stop, and check services; place them in the boot path or remove them from it; mask what must never run; and read what a running host is actually doing. They work with units, targets, service enablement, runtime and boot-time state, and the status output that reports load, activity, and recent logs together in one call. The payoff is the ability to say, for any host, what it is running and what it is set to run — and show the two are not the same list — the practical foundation for least functionality, configuration management, secure baseline hardening, and the audit practice of keeping a server at a known, documented service state.

Working efficiently in the Linux shell is a core system administration skill, and it rests on more than knowing a handful of commands. This module builds practical command-line and text-processing skills on Red Hat Enterprise Linux for systems administrators, IT operations, help desk, infrastructure support, and cloud operations staff. Learners send a command's output where it needs to go, join commands with pipes, and reduce a long log file to the few lines that answer a question. They work with the three standard streams, input and output redirection, and the core text tools — grep, cut, sort, uniq, and wc — to turn raw command output and log output into a ranked count. The payoff is a number that survives scrutiny: not just an answer, but the single reusable command line behind it, so the same review can be reproduced by anyone on the team, on schedule, the way the security requirement for reviewing a system's records actually demands.
