Cristina Obae, PhD is an educator, teacher trainer, and researcher with over 20 years of experience in education, teacher in professional development, and educational technology. She is the founder of NEdHo Oy (New Education Horizons), a Finnish education-technology company focused on innovative approaches to digital, AI-supported, and immersive learning. Cristina has extensive experience training teachers and education professionals internationally, including through IB professional development, European education projects, and university-level teaching. Her work focuses on AI literacy, virtual worlds, immersive learning, digital pedagogy, and the responsible integration of emerging technologies into education. As a researcher at the University of Lapland, she explores how teachers can develop the knowledge, skills, and professional judgement needed to design meaningful learning experiences with emerging technologies. Her work includes the development of the TPACK-XD framework, extending technological pedagogical content knowledge for virtual worlds-based learning environments. Cristina combines research-informed practice with hands-on experience, helping educators move from understanding emerging technologies to confidently applying them in authentic teaching and learning contexts.
