    Dr. Aamna AlShehhi is an Assistant Professor at Khalifa University. She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Engineering from the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (in collaboration with MIT), a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Science from the Masdar Institute (in collaboration with MIT), and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). Her experience spans academic research, interdisciplinary innovation, and technology development, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence –driven solutions across diverse application domains. She leads the MedXAI research team, advancing interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data science, and emerging technologies. Dr. AlShehhi previously joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a postdoctoral fellow, where she contributed to pioneering research in advanced computational technologies. She also served as an Honorary Research Associate at Imperial College London in the School of Public Health, Epidemiology & Biostatistics (including the MRC-PHE Centre), collaborating on data-driven research initiatives. Dr. AlShehhi is passionate about advancing artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, and signal processing across a wide range of real-world applications. Her research explores data-centric methodologies, multimodal analytics, digital systems, and large language models to expand the impact of artificial intelligence. She actively collaborates with leading international institutions, including MIT, Harvard Medical School, Purdue, and EPFL, to translate research into practical, scalable solutions.
