In my personal views this subject and course are Ceramics and composites are advanced materials with distinct properties suited for various applications. Ceramics, made from inorganic materials, are known for their hardness, thermal resistance, and brittleness, making them ideal for use in aerospace, biomedical, and electronic industries. Composites combine two or more materials, resulting in enhanced properties such as improved strength, reduced weight, and increased durability. They find applications in automotive, aerospace, and construction industries, offering tailored solutions to meet specific needs. Both materials continue to evolve, contributing to technological advancements through innovation in material science and engineering, leading to more efficient and sustainable solutions.
Ceramics and Composites

This course will introduce the major types of ceramics and their applications. We will learn about the different methods used for glass strengthening; the factors that determine a ceramic’s crystal structure; the key characteristics of composite materials; and the different structures of fiber-reinforced composite materials. We will discuss reasons for creating various types of composites.
